Grasped Her Delicate Neck

Cynthia felt no goodwill towards this half-sister who shared the same father but different mother. She had no intention of acting out any reunion drama after such a long separation. After all, Shannon had no relevance to her.

Helena seemed completely oblivious to Cynthia's indifferent expression. She approached with a bright smile, ready to pull Cynthia into a hug, but Cynthia skillfully avoided her.

Not bothered by her failed attempt, Helena pursed her lips and spoke in a sweet tone, as refreshing as a clear spring, "Sister, have you been well all these years outside?"

Seeing Cynthia remain silent, she continued, "Dad has always been worried about you. If you're willing, you can come home with us. No matter how long we've been apart, we're still family, right?"

Cynthia flicked off the water droplets on her hand, raised her eyes to look at Helena, and mocked, "Helena Shannon, besides you and me, there is no one else here. Why pretend?"
