Cynthia, Come with Me, Okay?

Cynthia initially thought it was just her imagination. However, she heard a sound coming from the bedroom. A chill rose from the soles of her feet, swiftly spreading throughout her body, and her blood seemed to freeze instantly.

Cynthia struggled to control the panic within her, casually grabbing the baseball bat hidden in the shoe cabinet and slowly approaching the bedroom. At this moment, Cynthia's phone suddenly rang—it was Tristan calling.

"Aren't you at the company?"

"Yeah," Cynthia responded.

Her almond eyes contained a cold gaze as she stared fixedly at the bedroom, gradually stepping backward. If Cynthia had been planning to capture the intruder before, the moment she received Tristan's call, she became much more alert.

Finally, she had a somewhat normal reaction.

When facing danger, the first thought should not be about confronting it but rather skillfully avoiding it, ensuring no harm comes to oneself.
