No Room for Contingencies

The Quinns and Cynthia arrived at the hospital early, waiting anxiously. Old Mr. Quinn called everyone to his bedside, instructing them on matters to be handled after his potential departure.

"Henry, Hunter, I don't have many requests for you both. Just one thing—I want you to swear that no matter what dangers may arise in the future, even if it costs your lives, you'll protect Cynthia. Your sister has departed from this world early, and Cynthia is her only blood relation. You must always watch over her!"

Henry and Hunter, feeling helpless, reluctantly swore under Old Mr. Quinn's persistence. Seeing them take the oath, Old Mr. Quinn gestured to Cynthia.

"Cynthia, do you know what your grandfather wants to say?"

Cynthia lowered her gaze, masking her emotions. "Grandfather, what do you want to say?"
