Why Should We Compromise?

"Any conditions can be agreed upon..." Cynthia drew out her tone, a pensive look in her eyes. "Let Naomi voluntarily admit her guilt." Joe's face darkened, and he silently gritted his teeth. "Cynthia, do you have no sense of reason? Just for this trivial matter, are you going to ruin Naomi's life?"

These words reached Naomi's ears, and her face instantly turned pale. She anxiously exclaimed, "Joe..."

Joe glanced at her, signaling her to calm down. Then, with a tone filled with condescension, he said to Cynthia on the phone, "Cynthia, how about we compromise? As long as you and the bullied girl's parents drop the lawsuit, the Sweeney family promises to provide them with a generous compensation and will continue to support them financially."

Upon hearing this, Cynthia let out a low laugh. The sound of her laughter entered Joe's ears, furrowing his brow and stirring a sense of irritation within him.
