Hidden Truths

Cynthia and Evelyn arrived at Times Plaza in San Heith.

The two did not immediately go shopping. Instead, they sat down in a café, enjoying some snacks and afternoon tea.

When the coffee was served, Cynthia picked up her spoon and slowly stirred the coffee in front of her, gazing quietly at the small whirlpool in the cup. The two of them sat in silence, and Cynthia had no intention of starting a conversation first.

She suspected that Evelyn had invited her out not just to drink coffee and pass the time, but for some other reason.

As soon as this thought crossed her mind, Evelyn, unable to hold back any longer, spoke first. "Actually, I invited you out because there's something I'd like to ask you."

"About Jacob?" Cynthia raised an eyebrow, looking at Evelyn.

Evelyn nodded, her hands clasped together, attempting to hide her nervousness. "The truth is, I've only met him twice. There are many things I don't know how to ask him directly, so I came to ask you instead."
