First Day of School

"Wake up."

A white haired young woman was shaking a young man who was sleeping in his bed.

"Mhhm"

"If you don't wake up right now I'll pour cold water on you."

Immediately after she said that he got up.

"I don't ever wanna get woken up like that again, one time was enough."

The young man said under his breath poutingly. In the past she threatened him with the same thing but he tried to call her bluff and kept sleeping and she actually poured cold water all over him.

"Why are you even waking me up today, it's a Saturday, there's nothing in my schedule on the weekends."

The black haired prince asked.

"We gotta go to Kosmo-Academy, orientation starts Monday and it's a long journey."

"Why can't we just use the teleportation gate?"

"Because it's too far dummy, we are going to use teleport to the closest teleportation gate to the academy but then we have to go the rest of the way by carriage, only employees and certain students can use the teleportation gate inside the academy."

"Alright, I'll get ready."

After 15 minutes Arthur was ready to go, he looked nothing like himself when he just woke up. He had a handsome face, a royal aura about it.

"Alright let's go say goodbye to your mom, we'll be staying at the academy and can't visit for at least the first semester."

Arthur and his childhood friend Valerie Braveheart, went to say goodbye to his mother. After walking and chatting for a few minutes they finally reached a magic room.

*Knock Knock*

"Come in"

The two opened the door and walked in, they saw a disorganized room filled with papers and magic formulas.

"Mom I'm going to Krono-Academy today, so see you later and take care."

Arthur said as he hugged her.

She smiled at him, she raised him for 18 years and the time seems to have went by so fast.

"Yes dear, be sure not to cause trouble and be safe, Valerie I hope I can trust you to keep watch over him."

"Of course ma'am as Arthur's childhood friend and a member of the Braveheart family and also the imperial knight commander of the third knight order, I'll make sure he'll be safe and out of trouble."

Valerie responded with enthusiasm and spirit which calmed the worrying heart of His mother.

"Idk why you two treat me like a child, I don't just go around causing trouble."

"Psst that's funny coming from you, the only reason you aren't a world renowned trouble maker is because of how introverted you are. If you weren't you would've broken everything and offended everyone."

Valerie said jokingly and Hera, Arthur's mother started laughing.

The two were close because Arthur knew her from when he was a small child and thus his mom also treated her like a daughter.

"Anyway I'm going to go say goodbye to my family quick then we'll be off."

Valerie said before leaving in a hurry, excited to start their school life.

"So you're going to take a break on adventuring for the duration of at least the first semester?"

She asked him, adventuring was a very popular and lucrative career path, but Arthur didn't really need fame, the money was good but the main reason he started was to test his magic and to get stronger.

"Well yeah unless some unforeseen circumstances happen, I don't think the catastrophe magician, the harbinger of doom, one of the only 10 SSS-rank adventurer in the world, NovaRuin."

"You really like the nicknames huh?"

Hera asked sighing.

"Yeah my epithets are pretty cool."

"Anyway goodbye, I'll see you soon, reach out if you need anything, I can just use teleportation magic to come here in an instant."

She giggled and then they said their final goodbyes, he was then called by the emperor.

The emperor had asked for him and Valerie to come, they both reached the throne room guarded by two knights and they stepped aside and announced our arrival.

Inside was a spacious room, with a luxurious throne at the end of the room at the center, sitting on the throne was the emperor. Aurelius Augustus, long Sun like golden hair and eyes he was 50 years old, still in good shape, no sign on his health deteriorating. Beside him to his left was his Aide and butler, then to his right was the First imperial knight commander and Valerie's dad.

Arthur and Valerie walked closer and they both knelt and assumed proper etiquette when greeting the emperor.

"Arthur Augustus greets the everlasting Emperor!"

"Valerie Braveheart greets the everlasting Emperor!" 

They said while kneeling on one knee with their heads bowed and their right hand on heart.

"Rise."

The emperor said and they instantly rise. He had a lot of authority and charisma as the emperor that one had to do what was told before him.

"You shall be going to Krono-Academy soon, this year will be special, most of the upcoming power houses and geniuses are already at or are coming to the academy this year."

He said with a deep voice while looking at the two of them.

"We have some Intel that the revolutionary army and the Demonic cult will try to attack, although the security will be good, never be complacent. If you do run into any opposition. Destroy them." 

The Emperor commanded, the two of them responded at the same time.

"Your will be done!"

They then got up and left, when the door closed the emperor asked.

"What do you think."

The Emperor's right hand and the patriarch of the Braveheart family- the family of the hero that defeated the demon king 3000 years ago.

"They'll be fine. Valerie is the greatest prodigy in our houses history."

"What about Arthur." 

The Emperor's left hand asked, though he is dressed and acts like a butler Is actually a fearsome assassin.

"Hmm I don't know, he's a total mystery. I can't even tell how much mana he has. So either he's so weak that his mana is basically non-existent or..."

"Haha it's probably the later, you know his mother Hera, she's the strongest Magician in our Empire and the only one with the Archmage title."

The patriarch of the Braveheart family still not fully convinced, while the Emperor's aide was more than 90% sure that Arthur was already a great mage."

"What do you think Lysandra?"

The aide asked the Shadow of the Emperor that always remains with the emperor guarding him.

"He noticed me."

She said monotone but the two wings of the Emperor were shocked. Lysandra and the shadow of the emperor was someone so powerful and stealthy that even the most powerful people in the continent wouldn't notice her killing them. 

"You're telling me a kid that's not even 20 noticed you're presence?"

"Well, it's not the first time, he noticed me back when he was a child and would always notice my presence as a way to greet me too." 

"Wait... When was the first time he noticed you?"

"On his 10th birthday."

They were speechless, a 10 year old boy, noticing the most elusive and secretive person in the empire, was just inconceivable. The emperor finally spoke.

"He'll be fine."
