Chapter 2: Pregnancy test

Dunagan walked carefully with the food tray in his hands.

"Good morning love...wake up,we have so much to discuss". Dunagan said.

"Tis the morrow already". She yawned and rubbed her two eyes. Her body felt heavy,she could actually feel her pregnancy now.

"Freshen up,I sent for ashnah already,she will soon be here. Dunagan said. She lazily lift her body up and got up to her feet.

She put off her dress in front of dunagan not with the intention of arousing him sexually. This is her first pregnancy and she was quite unsure of having sex with her husband.

Gosh!

Abstinence for nine months.

"I really don't want to take any risk. I can sacrifice a little time for my babies". She thought. Her pregnancy is not visible yet,so her body is still fit and in perfect shape except that her face is very oily. He tried to not look at her.

"Will you just go to the bathroom now". He yelled.

"Stop yelling, I'm going already".

Mojeti walked to the bathroom. She was quite tired.

"Here,take this and eat. Love I want you to tell me about the dream you had last night. Tell me in full details".

She took a mouth full of the properly seasoned ribeye steak and a fettuccine pasta. She washed it down with a lukewarm water.

"I will just summarize instead. I can't really say all that happened. Why not I tell you some other time,as it is I am eating ".

"No,no,no, no honey. You have got to tell me now. I mean right now". He said.

"Why are you so eager to hear it now. Last night you were pretty reluctant to hear it".

"Forgive me,I was not in my right mind but now I'm ready to hear it. Will you please tell me now ".

"Okay I will. She dropped the food tray on the table and faced him. There was a man. He was dressed in a dark clothes. He said the doers of good sent him to me that I am pregnant with the new defender and another baby who will protect and prepare the way for the defender.

"You mean twins".

"Yes,we are having twins. He said I should tell no one about this and to keep the defender a secret for she may possibly be in grave danger. Mojeti stopped. Dunagan waited patiently for her to continue but she did not.

"Is that all?" He asked.

"Yes, that's all. She answered.

There was this strange feeling inside her. She felt dunagan know something and did not want her to know about it for this reason she did not tell him the defender has a special Identity.

"Are you sure". He asked to be sure. She should know more than she claims. He thought.

"If I remember anything I will let you know".

"Fair enough".

She grabbed the food tray and continued with her meal.

"Do you mind". She offered him a little portion.

There's love in sharing". She said.

"Yes,I mind. I don't feel like eating anything". His mind was unstable. He could not think straight. Mojeti said nothing about malchijah. How come I had a dream of him? He thought.

This is madness.

She had a dream about our babies birth and I had a dream of their death.

This is a bad omen.

Goodness.

I cannot continue thinking like this, mojeti knows me well.

She will know something is up. I cannot let her know about it for she will be greatly distressed and worried. Dunagan thought.

There was a knock on the door.

"Dunagan sir,the midwife is here". Janim announced.

"Janim. He said aloud. You may send her in".

Ashnah examined mojeti thoroughly. She checked her eyes, her pulse and lastly,she used a feather like object to scan her belly to check how many babies are in mojeti's belly and their gender.

Ashnah was quite confused at first.

"I can't seem to understand the number of babies that are in your belly mojeti".

"How so?"... Mojeti asked.

"Is not twins that the man on a dark raiment said I would have. She thought. "Perhaps the other baby is doing this to give ashnah a hard time. She smiled a little.

"I don't know. Honestly I don't understand. I will just continue to wave the feather above your belly to continue scanning". Ashnah said. Her dark hair was perfectly braided and styled. She is advanced in age now.

Ashnah continued in silence. She is not new to this process. Infact this process is suppose to be easy. She would have supposed the baby to be a demon or something else but she herself had delivered dunagan for his mother and he was a normal child. No demon. No hard scan. Just normal like every other child.

Dunagan watched in silence too.

"Finally...ashnah sighed. It's a baby girl.

"A baby girl... Dunagan repeated.

Mojeti turned to face him.

"Is there a problem, love. She asked

"No, there is not a problem. He said. Ashnah did not detect twins but mojeti claims that she is pregnant with twins. How come ashnah did not know?" He thought.

"Ashnah what is that feather like object?..."what is it supposed to do?". He asked.

"It's a todeh. It is supposed to show the number of babies in her womb and their gender. Since the arrival of jahzerah,magic object has been invented to help our work easier and faster.

"Okay,I see". He said nodding his head.

"And you're two weeks pregnant". Ashnah said.

"Two weeks.Wow!" Mojeti said. Mojeti had no idea of her pregnancy until hoshe'athe told her.

"Yes, two weeks. If there is any abnormal signs or changes in your body let me know. Dunagan take good care of her. I will take my leave now,I have so much to do". Ashnah said as she closed the door behind her.

There was something about mojeti's child. It was not easy to get the baby gender.

She would have concluded that mojeti's baby is different. There is certainly nothing wrong with the todeh. The feather like object.

She had made use of it yesterday. It's not from the todeh.

Mojeti's baby cannot possibly be a demon or something odd,most especially when I delivered dunagan myself and dunagan was indeed a normal child.

Ashnah sigh and continued her journey back home.
