Missing Him

Ren went directly from his office to his father's house. The familiar sight of his room brought an involuntary smile to his lips.

He had been staying away for a few months, but it felt like ages had passed.

Fu Xian had been unusually quiet since last night. What could it even do when its master stubbornly decided to stay away from the scary Kade?

Never in its wildest dreams had Fu Xian thought it would be forced to defend Kade.

"Just make sure they stay together," the nine-tailed fox had instructed, leaving Fu Xian with no choice but to comply.

"You know," Fu Xian began hesitantly, "he just likes you too much. How about you try talking to him?"

Ren scoffed while crossing his arms. "Not talking."

The reply left Fu Xian at a loss. Defeated, the poor flurry creature retreated into silence. Instead of looking at Ren, it decided to distract itself with an online game.
