Is She Jealous?

That young phoenix seemed to dislike him quite a bit, chirping and chirping in front of him all day long.

He didn't understand bird language, but he could tell those were not friendly words. Given the small size of the phoenix, he ignored its scolding even though he knew it was berating him.

Instead, it was the young phoenix that scolded so much it seemed to be running out of breath, panting uncontrollably, as if it were about to burst into smoke from the frustration.

He found it amusing and took out some spiritual water to offer it. The moment it saw the water, its eyes glistened with moisture, and it flapped its wings while holding a cup, gulping down the water with gurgling sounds.

After it finished the water, it smacked its lips contentedly.

Then suddenly, the entire bird—no, the entire phoenix—froze in place. It looked at him in disbelief, then lowered its head to look at the cup in its claws.
