Gratitude for being Born was Less than for being Raised up?!

"Su Yijia, I'm talking to you, can't you understand?" Qin's mother shouted in frustration. After yelling, she immediately lowered her voice as if she was afraid someone outside would hear.

Su Yijia chuckled sarcastically, each word she said seemed to peel off her own skin, thrown to the ground, and trampled upon.

"Green beans!" She repeated herself.

Qin's mother moved her lips silently, obviously cursing under her breath. But she didn't dare to meet Su Yijia's gaze and left quickly. Su Yijia leaned lazily against the stove and waited for a few minutes. Then Qin's mother returned with a small bag.

"Here, the green beans you wanted," she said, unwillingly handing them over.

She continued, "No matter what, we're a family now. If there's real danger, you can't keep everything from us."

"Have you ever heard the saying, 'Curiosity killed the cat'?" Su Yijia laughed crisply.

There was an unmistakable threat in her tone, along with a sense of malice that couldn't be concealed.
