Dracel jerked from sleep in shock, she was panting in fear and drenched in sweat.
I have been waking you up for the past five mins, did you visit the land of the dead or what, Lisa said getting up from her squatting position.
She looked at the ground and saw water all over the ground, a bucket was lying on the ground too, she wiped her face as water dripped from her hair.
You poured me water? She questioned.
You were looking dead, pale and not responding to whatsoever way I tried to wake you, the cold water did a great job.
But that's unfair!
Nothing is fair young lady, she said not showing a bit of remorse for what she did. Now pick up yourself and get dressed! Her mean looking eyes stared daggers at Dracel.
You're been mean, Dracel said with a broken voice.
Cry me a river, she said and walked away closing the entrance of the tent.
Dracel looked at herself and sighed, it was morning already, she didn't need to take her bath again as every part of her was soaked, she picked up the clothes Lisa brought for her and changed her clothes, maybe the loss of the soldiers is what is making her act weird, Dracel thought.
As she came out of the tent, the sun hit her hard in the eye that she had to hide her face from the sun, after a second of sharp pain she stood properly but never dared to look at the sun.
Are you ok, a concerned soldier said as he stood by her side.
She nodded In affirmation but shut her eyes to avoid light from entering her eyes.
Your eyes glowed red few seconds ago, do you mind opening it let me see, One of the soldiers requested been concerned.
Let her be, Lisa said intervening. Come with me, Lisa said walking to a horse, Dracel followed suit but opened her eyes slightly.
Where are we going to, Dracel asked as she climbed on the horse with her head downwards.
Somewhere far away from here, somewhere you can be without getting into trouble. The horse neighed as it was slapped by Lisa and it set on its movement.
Do you trust this human Dracel? The voice came popping in her head.
You're back? Dracel whispered.
Stop avoiding her, those smells are going through your nose and you want the source of it, you want her Dracel.
Shut the hell off your mouth! She said in between her teeth.
And who are you talking to young lady? Lisa said putting the horse to a stop.
No one, just battleling with my thoughts, she said to quench the still atmosphere.
They continued their journey but the voice kept coming up in her head over and over again, she couldn't take it again that she had to scream, causing the horse to stop and turn in fright.
What in the world is wrong with you! She shouted and it echoed within the trees.
Excuse me lady, Lisa said coming to a stop and turned to her back. Dracel was panting heavily and her appearance was kind of scary that fear creeped into Lisa's heart.
Young lady you'll have to get down from this ride and walk if you want to keep talking to ghost on the road because I won't hesitate to slit you and your ghost throat! Fear had crept into her and it was visible in her eyes.
Dracel stared daggers at her after her statement and made a little groan from the inside but obediently came down from the horse, her eyes were just staring at one point only her body moved.
Who the hell does she think she is, Lisa thought within herself, she fastened her weapon to herself but she didn't know why, maybe because she felt no sense of security she thought, which was very unusual.
They traveled for a long time and Dracel never complained, instead she looked like a lamb who was ready to be slain. They finally arrived at an old looking inn, though it was old and in an open place around the woods, horses and wagon could be seen outside and the stench of alcohol and aroma of food was all over the place, noise and laughter were heard too
We're here, Lisa said climbing down, behave yourself, there are more than enough wealthy people here, don't make a mess here because of your psychopath behavior, she made a hmph sound and went in holding her by her side.
Lisa didn't see Dracel clench her fist, she was gnashing her teeth out of rage but her hair were covering her face. She followed Lisa into the inn without objecting and all she saw were promiscuous men, alcohol on every table, some were busy on their food and by a corner sat some women laughing and chatting, they were not well dressed and one could tell from their instinct that this was no good place for anyone decent to be in.
Sit here, Lisa said to Dracel but she stood, are you deaf I said sit here! She said in between her teeth.
Dracel took a second before sitting, her two hands were on the table as they held each other, everyone had notice their coming in, many eyes were on her and she could read their minds as they were wondering what she was. Lisa left Dracel sitting all alone and she went up the inn. Dracel clenched her fist and realeased it, she clenched her fist again and made her grip tighter like she was suppressing something, all she wanted was to get out of the inn before she loose her mind but just as she was about to go out, someone pulled up a drama.
Hello...pale pretty girl, a man said taking a seat by her side, what is an innocent looking one like you doing around this area?
Dracel said nothing and she didn't flinch, she made sure she didn't get an eye contact with him but he kept pressing.
I can help you out, just come to my table and let's have a drink pretty, he said touching her hair.
Dracel's fist tightened and both hands trembled from anger but the drunk man was far too unaware to notice it.
I can take good care of you, I'll make your body tremble and beg for love, I'm not like the other guys here who want everyone, I've had my eyes on you when you came here and I can see that you're the only one who is worth my heart, everyone here knows me, I have money.... I can give you jewelries are they not what your gender desire ... I can give you all of that without blinking.
You said you wanted me to take a drink, Dracel voice came stopping him from saying another word, then I'll gladly do so.
What's that noice from the down floor? A beard man with bald head asked as he was sitting opposite Lisa, he turns out to be the owner of the inn.
It must be some customers causing problem sir, a guard answered.
Then go handle it! I hate noise around my business place, he commanded.
Immediately the men rushed down, another noise broke out but there was sudden silence.
Looks like they've sorted the problem there, Lisa said.
I don't think so, they're taking time to get back.....
Maybe they just resolved the issue and are keeping the the customers silent, Lisa said trying to keep him calm.
Something is not just right about this silence, everywhere is sounding like a graveyard, something is not right, he said getting up.
Maybe your men are as weak as potatoes that's why you still have to check, Lisa teased standing up but he ignored her teasing. She followed him and their jaws dropped at the scene they met.
Hi, Dracel said with a smile as she cleaned the corner of her mouth with her palm. I was waiting just as you said and someone told me to try a drink so I did after all you didn't give me a drink through out the journey.
