Huo Qing'ang and Gu Pianpian sat on the attic, feeling the brisk evening breeze against their faces. Their skin trembled slightly, as if they were the sails of a ship swaying in the sea.

"Has Dad always treated you and Huo Qinglu differently?" Gu Pianpian inquired with a tentative tone, her soft voice carrying a gentle and soothing quality, similar to moonlight.

To his surprise, this question, akin to pouring salt on a wound, didn't hurt as much as he'd expected. Perhaps it was the comforting tone in Gu Pianpian's voice, or maybe he had grown numb to the unequal treatment over the years.

Huo Qing'ang answered briefly with an "Mm" and then closed his eyes in an attempt to avoid discussing the matter further.
