Wanwan was crouching outside a house near the square, teasing the proud white-feathered rooster inside the yard by making clucking sounds through the fence.
Little Diandian, who was just over four years old, squatted beside Wanwan, imitating her actions. Her amber eyes sparkled like stars as he happily held Wanwan’s hand and exclaimed, “Wanwan, the rooster is coming, it’s coming!”
Wanwan raised a finger to her lips and whispered, “Let’s be quiet, we don’t want to scare the rooster away.”
Zheng He (Hehe), dressed in a military green jumpsuit, stood behind them with a bewildered expression.
He had originally intended to play games with his two younger sisters, but halfway through, Diandian was lured away by Wanwan, and when he followed them, he found them squatting outside someone else’s yard, amusing themselves with a chicken.
After observing Wanwan for a while from behind, Zheng He realized he couldn’t persuade them to leave.
