"Beiliang, are you alright?"
After settling Emperor Jiayuan down, Shen Qi came alone to find Gu Beiliang. She saw him lying half-reclined on a soft couch, lightly tapping chess pieces as most of the anxiety faded from her face.
She walked over and sat beside him on the couch, her eyes carrying some resentment. "Beiliang, why were you so reckless today?"
"Where was I reckless?"
Gu Beiliang set aside the chess pieces and picked up a cup of hot tea. "Didn't you hint yesterday about me intervening in the study room?"
Shen Qi pouted instantly. "I didn't mean for you to take action."
"No harm done, as long as the outcome is good," Gu Beiliang said nonchalantly, noticing Shen Qi's irritated expression and couldn't help but smile slightly.
"Are you really unhurt? They were hitting you so hard just now."
"Wouldn't I dodge if they started fighting?"
