Captivity, Pursuers

A few minutes later, a screen appeared before her. Unlike floating in the air in front of her, it seemed to project directly into her eyes, exceptionally clear. Even the surrounding scenery was visible in 360 degrees. It was like she had suddenly gained a god's-eye view.

An Yao exclaimed, "Wow!" It felt quite novel.

In this AR screen, she saw vast expanses of primeval forest rapidly receding, disappearing into the boundless white horizon. At the center of her vision was a black-haired man with a long serpentine tail—obviously Gu Di’er. Behind him, there seemed to be pursuers.

His expression was icy and grim. Amidst this aura of malevolence, there was something utterly incongruous: the small object cradled in his arms, about the size of a palm.

Oh no, it wasn't an egg, but a phoenix egg!

An Yao's mouth formed a perfect "O."

Could it be that this unassuming little egg was her? Was she, at over 1.6 meters tall, almost reaching 1.7 meters, now squeezed into such a tiny shell?
