In Love’s Serenity

What have I but this to say,

That I have loved thee,

By night and by day,

Here and away.

What have I to show but this,

My commitment to thee,

In crisis and in bliss,

In all there is.

What have I but this to offer,

A love befitting of thee,

Queenly as you are,

A soul most fair.

What have we but an eternity,

For I to love and cherish thee,

For us to blend into unity,

In love's serenity.

What have we here but each other,

You to save me, I to shield thee,

You and me, sailing together,

And still what I'd rather.
