Her Heartbeat Quickened

Ji Yunchen didn't answer Jiang Guo's question and instead changed the subject. "The children went to the old house to have dinner today. I didn't ask our home chef to prepare food. How about we go out to eat today? It's on me."

Without waiting for Jiang Guo's response, he took her to a well-known private restaurant.

As they sat down, a waiter approached and handed them the menu. Ji Yunchen reached out and passed the menu to Jiang Guo. "Take a look and order whatever you like."

Jiang Guo glanced at Ji Yunchen with a hint of hesitation. His behavior today was too strange, making her unsure of his intentions.

"Why aren't you ordering?" Ji Yunchen noticed Jiang Guo's hesitation and extended the menu toward her again.

Jiang Guo collected her thoughts, took the menu, and said, "Thank you."

She then casually selected two dishes before returning the menu to Ji Yunchen.

Ji Yunchen didn't order much either; he added one signature dish and then handed the menu back to the waiter.
