Chapter 14

Jackson's POV

' Jackson, is it true what your father told me? Is that why he's not dining with us right now?' My mother, seemingly uncomfortable with the awkward silence we'd been having, finally spoke up. I knew she would bring it up one way or another.

' Come on mum, there's plenty of reasons why dad doesn't dine with us anymore.' a short silence fabricated between us, as Cindy looked at me.

' Well if any of it is true, then I also don't approve of that little girlfriend of yours.'

' I don't care what you approve of Cindy, you and I dated only once and it ended horribly.' I answered as I looked at her, hating her presence in our house. Cindy was like the thing I couldn't get rid of. The piece of gum that kept sticking at the bottom of my shoe. She was impossible.

' Don't talk to her like that. She's ten times a better and worthy woman than that cheap whore you…'
