Academy Under Attack

"The academy is under attack! We are being attacked by the Crimson Fangs!" The man had reported quickly waiting for their reply.

"Damn it! They acted so soon, I'll see to that," Darius said, walking out with the young soldier.

"I'll talk to the students. You guys can go with him. You know Darius is a bit reckless at times."

They all walked out of the room, with the old man heading towards the academy while Fen had decided to head back to his abode first.

"The crimson Fang decided to attack now! What is it they are planning? Are they so confident in taking us out."

Fen could see Alex training intensely, his body drenched in sweat. "Should I tell him about this? I think that would be the right thing, he have the right to decide what to do. But judging his performance, he's still naive and not fit to go into battle."

Alex saw Fen and ran to him, "Master, what's the problem." He asked, seeing his expression.

A report just came in, and the border is about to get invaded by a horde of zombies."

"Hold on, you don't mean the area the orphanage is located?!" Alex asked with wide eyes.

"Yes," Fen replied with a sigh. "The students are currently getting addressed, and a force is about to be sent there. Do you want to join them?" He asked, staring at Alex.

"Of course! My sister is out there alone, I... I can't let anything happen to her!"

"Alright, I know that would be your response. But, be careful, I feel something isn't right about this," Fen said. "C'mon, follow me." They both walked into the hut, and Fen had headed into his special room coming back within a few minutes.

He held a sword at one hand and two small bottles at the other. "Take this, and make sure you come back alive. The zombies pose a serious threat. A scratch from them is able to turn one into mindless beings just like them."

Handing the sword over to him, Alex bowed his head in thanks. "Thank you, master!"

"This here is a concealing potion. We can't have everyone knowing you formed a dantian and magic core," he said.

"I just started learning magic and don't know much yet, I think it's best to make use of my warrior skills for now." He thought.

"I think it's best I keep me being a mage a secret," Alex said. Fen tossed a bottle towards him, which he caught easily.

"Drink it. It will conceal your magic core. It lasts just twelve hours. I think I have another one with me here." Three more bottles had materialised before him, which he tossed to him. A ring had also appeared on his palm, which he passed to Alex.

"This is a low-grade storage ring. You can keep your stuff in it." He said. "The bottles, the green ones, are healing potion, and the yellow one is the concealing potion. Be careful," he said, patting his shoulder.

In the large buildings surrounding the academy, various explosions occurred destroying parts of the building. Some figures dressed in a dark robe with purple linings casually cast various spells, destroying the area as they passed through.

"What the hell! They are much!" Darius thought, looking at the figure. With his eyes, he had counted more than fifty figures.

Darius, already in his armour, walked bravely towards them. "Do you know what you're doing?! Attacking the academy is akin to a death wish!"

Stomping his foot, the ground had split, causing rocks to rise. He shot forward, drawing out a large curved sword.

"Don't let him get close! He's a damn warrior!" One of the figures at the front said and began to cast a spell.

Some figures charged forward from behind weilding various weapons.

Darius had swung his sword towards the coming figures with a powerful Qi exploding on impact. They had been pushed back by the force and unable to react to what happened next.

Darius moved amidst them, swinging his sword effortlessly. A strike had landed on his shoulder but was pushed back by the Qi surrounding his body.

A large fireball was sent, hurtling towards him along with other spells. The area exploded, causing a cloud of dust to rise.

"The mages are quite the troublesome ones. I need to get rid of them first. A fierce wind blew dispelling the dust. On the floor, about five were already down, and Darius had yet to receive any lethal injury.

"You guys aren't the real deal! You're just trying to keep me here, right!" He shouted as he kicked off the ground.

"Surround him. Don't let him break through!" The leader said with a wide smirk on his face.

A large force had been sent by the Crimson Fang to attack the academy. A battle was already going on at several parts of the academy, with buildings getting destroyed and the civilians getting killed by stray attacks.

"Everyone! Follow the safety precautions! Head to the back of the acad..."

An arrow had passed through his eyes, killing him instantly. The people screamed loudly as everyone tried to get to the academy. Bodies kept on falling as the crimson fang attacked everyone on sight.

In the academy, inside a large base, the students had been addressed, and a decision was finally made. Currently, they were getting dressed in the combat suit given to them.

"Remember, you're to work as a team, no infighting!" The old man said with a stern voice. "They will follow you and will protect y'all from any harm." He pointed to the three figures standing at the corner all dress in their combat gear.

The door was pushed open, and Alex walked in along with Fen, who made his way to the old man.

"Alex!" Zephyr called out, waving his hand. Alex walked towards him, joining the students gathered around. "Good to see you," he said. "Did you hear what's going on? We are going out for our first expedition!"

It wasn't long before Fen broke away from him heading outside the room. Staring at Alex, he nodded before passing through the door.

"Alright, everyone. I'll escort you out of the academy." Alex had already worn his combat suit and was standing close to Zephyr.

Both the mages and the warriors had been joined together. Everyone followed his steps, passing through a secret passage, which led to a hidden door.

Passing through, they appeared before the large gate, which was currently empty 9f guards.

"Alright, this is it. They will brief you about your opponent as you journey through. Don't forget to stop at one of the cities and get a horse for everyone," he said to the three figures.

"Get them! Don't let anyone escape!" They could see a group of figures running towards them with some already weaving spells.

"I'll hold them back! You guys should leave now!"

Without wasting time, he brought his hand to the ground and began to cast a spell. A fierce tornado was forming, getting bigger within the second.

"Cyclone!" The wind was sent forward, causing dust to rise and dispelling the attacks of the others. The winds circled around him as he formed a defensive stance before the gate.

"No one shall pass!" He roared loudly.

Fen had finally joined the battle, currently fighting a group of opponents. "Shit! I forgot to give him the bracelet," he thought as he swung his hand, sending a wind blade that passed through a guy's throat, causing a spurt of blood.

"It isn't that bad as he would be able to fight in his full strength," he thought, finishing the rest quickly.

"Fen... Fen... Fen, you haven't changed a bit." A guy appeared from the side of a building, walking in slow strides towards him. He had long raven hair with a pale face. One of his hands was constantly letting out sparks of lightning while the other was covered in an ominous dark glow.

"Still following orders like the dog you are, Behar," Fen said with a frown. "This is bad. They really meant business. I would need to go all out to win this battle."

"You didn't learn your lesson from our last battle, did you?" Fen said with a smirk

"Don't think you will be able to win this time around, I've gone through an upgrade!" Behar said, kicking off the ground.
