Being able to wander around was due to the potions he had bought from the shop.

The items in the shop were arranged based on their grade and cost, and he had depleted his blood points in acquiring them. The concealing potions were graded common, with higher grades costing a larger amount of blood points. The common grade would only last for an hour before wearing off.
