He felt his core pulsating and his Qi energy surging wildly with cracks beginning to form. The core exploded with the energy gathering, and condensing, brimming with power.

An upgraded core with a hard outer layer slowly formed with Alex letting out a relieved sigh. With the breakthrough over, he stood off the ground.

Keeping his sword, he walked towards the leader who was barely alive. "Absorbing him would greatly help me," he thought. Due to the high level warriors blood he had absorbed along with a substantial portion of their Qi, he felt himself stronger than before.

Also, his core was above the third layer with residual energy swirling around. "If I'm able to fully absorb them, I might be able to break through to the fourth layer.

'The problem is my magic core,' he thought a bit worried. He also expected a breakthrough but nothing had happened.

"Where's my master, where did you guys put Master Fen," he said, lifting him through his collar.
