Orfila was standing in a meadow, her hair flying around her head in the wind.
The grass swayed gently in the breeze as it created a fascinating dance of green and gold. Wildflowers dotted the landscape with vibrant splashes of color – delicate blues, radiant yellows, and soft purples. Butterflies moved swiftly and lightly from flower to flower, their wings shimmered like stained glass in the sunlight.
Bees buzzed lazily as they collected nectars, it added to the harmony of nature's sounds. She looked in the distance and saw a stream that meandered gently through the meadow, Its waters sparkled under the sunlight. And above it all, the sky stretched out endlessly with a vast canvas of blue adorned with fluffy white clouds.
The delightful scent of the blossoms enveloped her with each step she took. She smiled as she felt it sooth her soul and lifted her spirits. She took in deep breaths and laughed, her laughter was filled with pure happiness and it echoed throughout the meadow, she felt free and happy here.
She looked down when she felt something brush against her fingers and saw the most beautiful dark brown wolf she had ever seen in her life. A majestic wolf whose gorgeous green eyes gleamed with intelligence and kindness. He moved close to her with grace and strength, his fur glistened under the sunlight. She gently started to caress his nose with one hand and stroked over his head with the other. The wolf rubbed against her bare legs, his fur was so soft which surprised her because she had expected it to be coarse.
Despite his wild appearance, there was gentleness in his gaze as he gazed into her eyes. Together, they wandered through the meadow as they enjoyed this peaceful moment together. As they moved, the wolf brushed against the wildflowers, releasing their sweet fragrance into the air. Orfila reached out to touch his fur, she felt its softness beneath her fingertips. In that moment, she felt connected and bound to him.
As they walked around the meadow, the meadow seemed to come alive around them, it was as if nature itself was celebrating their union. The sun dipped below the horizon, it painted the sky with hues of pink and orange, as if to bless their love with its radiant glow.
She sat down on the grass, the wolf curling up next to her, keeping her warm. She threw an arm over his chest and fell asleep, feeling safe with her guardian near her.
She woke up lying next to a man. When she looked, she realized it was Cain. Her head was on his chest, his arm around her shoulder, holding her tight. They lay there still in the meadow, skin to skin. Although startled at first, she felt at home and snuggled into his body. She felt him tighten his arm around her. How did she get to this meadow? Was it a dream? She heard him talking quietly in his sleep and strained to understand what he was saying. "Mine" was all she could make out. For some reason, she felt she was where she belonged and dropped off to sleep again.
When she next awoke it was to the feel of his fingers skating along her skin. She moaned and moved closer to his hand. He bent down and brushed his lips against hers and brought his hands to her face, so gently. Her arms were around his neck, pushing her lips harder to his, pushing her hips up to meet his body. Cain stopped the kiss. "Do you want something, pet?"
She giggled and nodded her head. Her hands strayed down his body, feeling his hard muscles under taut skin. She wanted to touch every bit of him. She couldn't stop her hands from moving, learning every inch of his amazing body. Her lips followed where her hands had been, down his neck, across his shoulders. She flicked her tongue across his nipples and loved hearing his appreciative deep growl. She moved farther down, kissing past his stomach, to his hard cock, standing straight up from his body. She looked up at him with a hunger on her face and started licking his cock head, tasting him. She felt his hands stroking her hair.
Cain struggled to speak through the pleasure she was giving him. "You are mine, I am never going to let you go."
Cain looked down at Orfila, her face so pale. He felt the need to touch her, to let her know he was there, that he wouldn't leave her. He gently trailed his fingers over any undamaged skin he could find. Whenever he lost contact with her skin, even for a second, her features would tighten, like she was feeling more pain. Then, when he touched her again, her face would soften. He wondered if she could hear through the drug induced coma she was in.
He leaned down closely so no one could hear but her. "You are mine, pet, I am not going to let anyone hurt you again."
She looked down at the chocolate brown wolf curled up at her feet. She stroked his soft fur. Why was it whenever she saw him she felt safe and loved? He never seemed to leave her side. Where did he come from? And where was she? She looked around at the vast meadow, the slight wind rippling across the tall grass. It was so quiet and serene here. Sometimes she caught a glimpse of a wolf nearby, but none came close. If they dared, a low growl would rumble through her guardian's chest and they would quickly leave.
She often wondered about the other wolves she saw in the distance. They seemed curious, yet none dared to approach, as if they knew of the special bond she shared with her guardian. His low growl was a warning to stay away, and it was enough to keep them at bay.
But there was one wolf who didn't stay away like the others. The wolf seemed weak and sad, it tried coming to her but it was as if it was pinned down by an invincible force. The wolf was at the other side of the meadow. She felt sad for the wolf and wanted to help the wolf but each time she got closer, her legs would become too weak to continue. But if she returned to where she was before, her legs would feel strong again. Her guardian would comfort her when she felt sad for the wolf. Because of her sadness, her guardian seemed anxious when she wandered towards the sad wolf and would stop her whenever she tried.
She was so sleepy all the time, but there was no better place to sleep than next to her wolf. He kept her warm, and she knew no one would touch her with him near. No one would hurt her ever again.
Jeff was scanning through her medical chart and looked up at his patient, still in a drug induced coma. She was slowly improving, but now he was starting to worry about Cain. He hadn't left her side for more than a few minutes at a time, and he looked like hell. And his wolf was so close that none of his assistants even dared to come close to her when he was there. Jeff shook his head, thinking back to yesterday when Trina had tried to change Orfila's dressings.
Orfila had stirred a little and moaned, and Cain had grabbed Trina's arm and threw her across the room. Good thing that werewolves were strong in their human forms or she would have had some broken bones. But now she refused to come into the room unless Cain was gone. It was understandable that he had wanted to protect his mate, but he had to let them take care of her medical needs. He had to talk to Conri.
He looked up to see Conri walking into the room. Conri always seemed to know when Jeff needed to talk to him. "Just the person I wanted to speak with. Alpha Conri, I can't get any of my nurses to walk in the room anymore. He has to leave at least for 15 minutes four times a day so we can treat all of her wounds."
Conri let out a long weary sigh as he looked at his brother, so intent on his injured mate. "I know Jeff, I am sorry about that, I heard about Trina. Glad to hear she is OK but I know it could have been worse. That is why I am here." Conri walked slowly towards his brother, not wanting to startle him or his wolf. He stopped a few feet away from the bed and quietly spoke. "Cain, I need to talk to you."
Cain's head whipped around, his green eyes swirling with amber flecks. His wolf was always near. He wouldn't let anyone hurt his mate, not even his brother, the Alpha. If he took a step closer, he would tear his brother's throat out without having second thoughts.
