Helpless, Cordelia could only look at the gory scene in front of her and barely control her urge to empty the contents of her stomach once again.
Despite knowing it herself deep down that she had mauled the goblins in a fit of rage to vent her frustrations as well as deal with her mixed emotions at the time, which she used as a justification or more of an excuse to digest that scene, but this, this was on another level for her.
Simply, by being the targets of being brutalized shifted from goblins to humans.
Huuuu
'Calm down, humans can be far more dangerous than brainless monsters, I should be cautious.'
Cordelia exhaled deeply to adjust her mentality and digest the gory scene in front of her while rationalizing it, for her own future's sake, knowing the disgusting truth of many humans from the novel.
However, even with her best efforts to accept the scene as something 'normal', it was impossible for the current her. After all, humans don't change that easily.
It was already a huge surprise that she could hunt and kill goblins, even if in a fit of rage since she didn't come from a violent society, but a civil society where laws and government were just, at least on the surface.
In the end, not being able to look at the scene for any longer, she stopped her mind from dwelling on the perpetrator and decided to not linger around, heading in a random direction.
Her previous fierceness had also plummeted as she took cautious strides across the forest, worried that some human would attack her.
'How could I let something like this slip my mind!?' Cordelia lamented at her foolishness as she headed further in.
'This was the damn problem in this arc in the novel! Despite proving their worth, and some having even completed their individual missions, still died before the day ended.'
Cordelia hated the selfishness of humans, who just to stay in power would put the weaker ones down and even kill them if they as much as showed the slightest potential to threaten their seat of power.
She didn't hate the humans who betrayed humans all that much. Because they directly informed you: Hey, we are the ones you need to be wary of!!
The problem was always the hypocrites and the ones who put on a mask of virtuousness on their vile faces and evil hearts, only to reveal their true colors at one's most vulnerable moment.
Not wanting to dwell on such complicated matters anymore, she decided to shift her focus to completing her individual mission.
'I have killed 7 goblins and 3... bugs.'
Cordelia shuddered as she remembered those 3 bugs, the size of her arm and had attacked her at the same time.
'They were too weak, luckily.' That was the only factor that relieved her as she literally sliced them into multiple pieces to kill them as just 2 parts weren't enough to snuff the life out of them.
'I have to kill 13 goblins and 27 other monsters.'
She nodded her head at the thought and without any other choice, she continued to wander in a seemingly random direction. Though, she hoped that she would reach her destination by following the clues she was aware of
After 6 hours had passed since they got transported into the forest, a bizarre scene could be witnessed where a girl in somewhat torn clothes was chasing the goblins instead of running away from them.
"Haah... You fuckers... Haah... I…I said, STOP RUNNING AWAY!... Haah..."
A girl drenched in green, purple and red blood cursed and shouted with ragged breathing, panting for breath as her eyes locked dangerously at two goblins crawling away from her.
K-i-e-i-k
K-e-e-i-k
The two goblins whimpered at her voice and the girl devilishly smiled despite her tiredness as she moved towards them even in her current rundown condition.
Stab
Spurt
She stabbed the two goblins one by one, who showed no reluctance whatsoever.
Well, it was not like they didn't want to, just that they couldn't.
"Finally..."
The girl exhaled a breath of relief as she looked at the dead goblins.
To any observer, who didn't know the green creatures, the scene would be cruel but those who knew it would rather praise the girl for her bravery.
"I completed the target of you lil' shits."
Who else could the uncouth girl be, but Cordelia?
Her little celebration was broken by the chiming sound of the blue window.
Ding!
[You have successfully subjugated a Goblin]

Ding!
[You have successfully subjugated a Goblin]
[Reward: 5 Points]
Looking at the notifications, Cordelia had a blank look on her face as she waited for the final one.
Ding!

[Mission Progress: 31/50 Monsters(20/20 Goblins)]
[Mission Reward: 300 Points]
[Failure Penalty: Final score will be 30% of your collected score]
[Tip: Mission Progress won't change from monsters subjugated with help but points will be rewarded for them!]
"Damn! It's still fully shown..."
Tch
Cordelia clicked her tongue despite feeling better after having completed one requirement of her mission, which had irked her the most.
"If only I didn't have to stay in the forest, looking for goblins, then I would have completed the mission so much faster," grumbled Cordelia as she chose to look at the remaining time.
'Clock.'
[6:01:39/24:00:00]
"Quarter of the day is gone and here I am..."
Cordelia couldn't help but let her frustrations out because she knew a few hidden places that weren't explored until way later in the novel and were casually mentioned in a few filler chapters where irrelevant characters fought and died.
'Why do I even remember this…?' She couldn't help but question herself.
However, that didn't stop her from walking away from her hated goblins after picking up their crude weapons in order to help her in trying to complete the individual mission as fast as possible since only then would she know where she had to go for the hidden places and how many she could go to.
She wasn't mindlessly walking away as she utilized the free time to think of other things that had been bothering her since she gained those memories. But that didn't mean she had given up on her cautiousness regarding her surroundings.
"According to this body's memories, even if I survive here, nothing good would come out of meeting 'my' heartless family..."
"I need some kind of assurance, some deterrence, someone who can protect me and keep them away..."
Thinking about every single name in the book, she couldn't help but frown as she muttered, "Is there no one...?"
Just as the words left her mouth, a name popped in her mind, causing her to stop right in her tracks, not even caring about her surroundings. That was just how profound of a role that character or person had in the novel.
"Wait!"
"There is one..."
"The sole 'Villain' of the book filled with numerous 'Villainesses' and Male Leads vying for the protagonist's attention..."
Her entire body trembled the moment she thought about asking for his help.
'No, no, no... He won't help me. Heck, everyone in this world considers him gay because he didn't fall for the Female Lead or the Protagonist of the world...'
The mere thought of asking that man for help resulted in her entire body repulsing that thought with all her might but,
"Isn't he the only one, though?"
Even though her body's reaction and her mind firmed the thought of not asking for his help, she couldn't think of anyone else that appeared throughout the novel.
"But the previous problem persists... I don't know their current ages and if they match with mine... Maybe they are older by a year or so..."
"Worst case scenario, they aren't even born yet or only a few months remain before the doom..."
Sigh
Cordelia couldn't help but sigh since she had no concrete information about her situation.
Yes, she did have the original's memories but she was a cripple since she turned 8, so they weren't of much use, except for knowing her torment.
She barely even registered those memories since they were more or less useless and clashed with her fierce personality.
Unbeknownst to her, her personality was changing every second as the two were fighting, clashing, overpowering, drowning and intertwining with one another.
"Jackpot!"
Unaware of her internal changes, Cordelia exclaimed out loud as she looked in front of her.
