The black jeep stopped in front a building that looked like a...
A clubhouse???!!
I immediately turned my head to look at Alexander. Is this the important meeting he wanted me to escort him to??
After our argument earlier today, Alexander had come back to tell me to dress up, that we were going for an important meeting. He even had to choose a dress for me.
A black strapless dress that exposed most of my skin. It made me feel like a whore and to my utmost chagrin, we're outside a clubhouse.
A freaking clubhouse!
I don't do clubbing. Literally, I've never been to a club house all my life. There was this one time Ava wanted to drag me to one that was a few blocks away from our apartment, but I vehemently refused with the excuse of being sick.
And now, Alexander had to cunningly and deceptively bring me here. If this is where he was going to have his important meeting, then I'm not going in with him. I'd rather wait for him inside this car.
"Is this where your important meeting is going to hold?" I asked in annoyance.
"Yes."
"I'm not going in. I'm not a clubber, Alexander. You should've told me that you wanted to bring me to a club." My tone was harsh but I didn't care. He can't just bring me to a clubhouse without my consent.
"Get out." His voice was calm and he wasn't looking at me.
"I'm sorry. Wh...."
"Get out of the car, Angel."
"I'm not getting out, you arrogant brute," I folded my arms under my chest and defiantly relaxed against the car sit. I could feel his eyes boring holes into the side of my head but I didn't turn to look at him.
The door on his side clicked open and he stepped out of the car. My eyes followed him as he rounded the car and came to my side. He knocked on the glass and I whined it down, glaring hard at him.
"Do not get on my nerves now, Angel. Just get down." His eyes were twitching a little and his face was expressionless. I gave him a hard gaze before shaking my head, no, to him. "Ple-ease," he grumbled out and gave me a pleading look.
I huffed out in annoyance when he opened the door for me. I stepped out of the car, adjusting the skimpy dress on my body.
How can he be dressed reasonably in a black suit and then make me wear something slutty?
I looked up at the clubhouse that reflected elegance and sophistication. The entrance was grand with a marquee displaying the club's name in stylish lettering. The building itself was typically well-maintained, with architecturally interesting features such as large windows, ornate facades, and beautiful landscaping.
My gaze went back to Alexander when he took off his suit and draped it around my shoulders, leaving him in his black shirt and his black plain trouser.
His hand wound around my shoulders as he guided me towards the club's entrance.
As we entered the club, I was hit with a wave of noise and energy. The bass thumped in my chest, drowning out any coherent thoughts I had. The colorful lights swirled and danced across the walls and ceiling, creating a mesmerizing light show that flickered in time with the music. The club was packed with people, bodies swaying and moving to the beat, their laughter and chatter blending with the music to create a cacophony of sound.
Alexander led me through the throng of people, his hand resting reassuringly on the small of my back. I felt his presence anchoring me in the chaotic whirlwind of the club. I watched in awe as people of all shapes and sizes danced and laughed with abandon. Some were dressed in flashy outfits, glittering under the club lights, while others wore more casual attire. The air was thick with a heady mix of sweat, perfume, and alcohol, creating an intoxicating atmosphere that made me giddy.
Alexander guided me away from the chaotic whirlwind of the club to a secluded pathway. We got to a stop as a huge man in suit stood in front of an entrance that led to a flight of stairs.
The man's face flashed in recognition when he saw Alexander, he gave me a small smile as he moved to the side and allowed us to enter.
I heaved out when we got to the last stairs at the top. From the way things were coordinated here, I could guess that this was the VIP arena.
"Good thing you are here, Alex. I was just about to go back in and punch the shit out of Russo's face." I turned to see Clark, whose face was contorted in what seems like anger. "Oh, it's our Angel," he remarked when he noticed my presence. He took my hand and brought it to his lips, the angry look on his face completely disappearing.
Alexander tugged my hand away from Clark, giving him a hard glare which earned him a smile from Clark. I briefly looked at Alexander who lightly brushed a kiss against my temple, as he muttered incoherent words.
"Are you sure you want to do this? This could go wrong, Alexander." Clark's expression was serious as he gave Alexander a chary look. Alexander gave him a curt nod and turned to look at me concisely.
As my gaze flickered between Clark and Alexander, a sense of unease settled in the pit of my stomach. Why do I feel like this wasn't going to be just an important meeting but something more?
We were apparently standing in front of a black wooden door which immediately flung open. I slowly stepped into the dimly-lit room, with Alexander's hand wrapped protectively around my waist. I flinched lightly as the door was forcefully shut close.
"Oh la, la, if it isn't the magnificent Alexander Marco." A husky voice spoke out, making me to glance at the direction it came from.
A man dressed in a red shirt and black pants sat nonchalantly across the mahogany table. He had rugged features, with distinctive tattoos that peeked out of his half-unbuttoned shirt. His body language was assertive and commanding with a cold and calculating gaze that exuded power and control. I didn't need to be told twice that the man sitting across me was a dangerous man.
"You know why I am here, Russo. Let's get straight to the point." Alexander's tone was cold and condescending. He pulled out a sit and sat down. I gasped out in shock when he dragged me to sit on his laps.
I gave him a glare and a 'what are you doing?' look. The corners of his lips curled up into a smile and I pinched him on his biceps. A blush crept up on my cheeks and I slightly bent my head to hide it with my hair.
I am sitting on a man's laps in a room filled with men - dangerous men. Four men from Alexander's side, which included Clark and his bodyguards. Six men from the Russo guy's side. Two stood behind him, two stood at the door and the remaining two stood at a dark corner in the room.
"I see you brought her. She is indeed a beauty to behold. I really can't wait to make her mine." Alexander's grip on my waist tightened and his eyes narrowed.
"That's if you win." My eyes squinted a little at his words.
Hold on...am I.... 'That's if you win.' I replayed the words on my head, allowing it to slowly sink in.
My eyes widened in shock when I realized the real reason Alexander brought me here.
