Chapter 41

Qin Lily immediately decided to revisit the cave, taking Mu An along before he had a chance to leave.

Just as they left the city, Qin Lily noticed they were being followed.

Without showing any sign of alarm, she glanced back. Four people were tailing them, all armed and clearly up to no good.

Mu An, oblivious to the situation, was busy trying to persuade Qin Lily to abandon the idea of returning to that "haunted" cave, but to no avail.

Once they had gone far enough, four figures in black emerged from the woods.

They were assassins sent by the Ni family.

Assassin One: "The patriarch has ordered: kill Zhong Qing, leave no survivors."

Assassin Two: "Follow them closely. Wait until they're far enough from Tang City before making a move. Don't let anyone find out."

Assassin Three: "The two of us will keep Mu An occupied. You two handle the job quickly."
