Merlin stood amidst the desolate city, his body trembling from exhaustion from fighting Ammit, his reserves of magic nearly depleted. The air grew heavy, an unnatural darkness descending as Apophis, the primordial serpent of chaos, returned. His colossal, smoke-like form writhed and twisted, obscuring the light and casting an ominous shadow over the land.
Apophis's body was a terrifying, ever-shifting mass, with smoky tendrils flowing outward, curling and twisting like living creatures before retracting into his semi-corporeal form. Along his shifting blackness, ember-like cracks glowed and pulsed with molten red and orange energy, resembling fissures in volcanic rock. These fiery veins rippled like a heartbeat, spreading across his massive form.
His movements created an ominous, low rumble, accompanied by the crackling sound of volcanic energy and the faint roar of displaced wind. As Apophis descended towards Merlin, his head took shape—a massive, elongated shadow crowned with jagged, flame-like streaks of glowing orange. His mouth opened into a mile-long chasm, revealing rows of jagged, translucent teeth that faintly glowed with inner fire, their edges constantly shifting as though not entirely solid.
The red-orange glow from within his gaping maw illuminated the swirling smoke around him, casting eerie, living shadows.
Summoning the last vestiges of his strength, Merlin extended his hand outward, palm facing upward. A faint, radiant glow began forming in the center of his palm, growing brighter and more intense. He channeled every remaining bit of his mana, as sparks of golden-orange energy swirled in a circular motion, accompanied by a low, resonant hum that gradually increased in pitch.
A miniature sun formed above his hand, taking on a molten, fiery appearance—its surface rippling and shifting like liquid magma, with fiery flares bursting sporadically from its edges. The sun pulsated with a radiant golden aura that intensified with each beat, casting dynamic shadows on the environment and causing visible heatwaves to ripple in the air.
The intense heat radiating from the miniature sun caused the surrounding air to distort with shimmering heatwaves, creating a mirage-like effect. Nearby metallic objects, such as statues, armor, and weapons, began to glow red-hot and visibly melt, with molten droplets falling to the ground. The ground beneath Merlin blackened and cracked, small embers glowing along the fractures, as if scorched by the sun's immense heat.
Particles of ash and smoke rose around Merlin, adding to the destructive aura of the spell. He was about to kneel from exhaustion but used his willpower to stand firm. He had fought one peak High God-level opponent and another with mid God-king level.
Merlin knees were about to give out due to exhaustion, but he held on and muttered."Just a bit more.:
As the sun enlarged above his hand, the golden glow became blinding, and the fiery flares grew more chaotic and intense. With a final, determined effort, Merlin hurled the miniature sun toward Apophis. It moved with explosive force, leaving behind a fiery streak and creating a loud crackling sound, like a meteor tearing through the atmosphere.
The miniature sun surged toward Apophis like a fiery comet, accompanied by a deafening roar as it tore through the air, leaving a blazing streak of golden fire. Its glow intensified as it approached Apophis, and its flares grew more chaotic, creating swirling waves of heat and light that pushed against the surrounding darkness.
The sun slammed into Apophis's semi-corporeal form with an explosive collision. The fiery orb erupted, releasing a blinding wave of light and molten energy that engulfed the serpentine figure.
Apophis's body reacted violently to the impact, the smoke-like mass rippling and distorting as the heat disrupted his form. The molten cracks along his body widened and glowed brighter, spilling fiery energy that hissed and sparked as it escaped.
Apophis let out a bone-chilling roar, his gaping maw glowing brighter as his translucent teeth fractured slightly under the heat. The sound was a mix of a guttural scream and a volcanic eruption.
The collision created a massive shockwave, scattering glowing embers and molten debris in all directions. The ground beneath them quaked, with cracks radiating outward from where Apophis writhed in pain.
Apophis retreated momentarily into the darkness, his form flickering and pulsing erratically as though struggling to reconstitute itself. The ember-like cracks along his body dimmed slightly but still pulsed faintly, signifying his resilience.
But Merlin was tired and stood amidst the desolate battlefield, his breath ragged, his body trembling from the exertion of the fierce confrontation. As his vision blurred and darkness threatened to overtake him, he glimpsed a radiant figure approaching from the horizon—it was Ra, the sun god, resplendent in his divine glory.
Before he could process this vision, Merlin's strength gave way, and he began to collapse.
In that critical moment, two graceful deities, Hathor and Bast, appeared beside him.
Hathor, and Bast caught Merlin before he could hit the ground. As they gently laid him down, Hathor observed Ra's arrival and murmured, "It seems Horus was successful in finding Ra."
Bast nodded in agreement, recalling how Horus had embarked with the Spear of Ra to seek his grandfather's aid, believing that Ra was their best hope to repel the malevolent Apophis.
In the vast expanse of the starry cosmos, Ra floated unconscious amidst the storm-tossed sea of darkness, surrounded by the primordial waters of creation, appearing as golden sand. Horus, in his majestic god form, soared through the celestial realm, clutching the Spear of Ra in his talons. Upon reaching his grandfather, Horus gently placed the spear into Ra's hands and implored, "Grandfather, we need you."
At Horus's plea, Ra's eyes snapped open, and his divine form ignited in golden flames that shimmered with the intensity of the sun. His black collar transformed into a glowing golden adornment, etched with pulsing hieroglyphs. His headdress, now adorned with cosmic symbols and a blazing red gemstone, crowned his radiant figure. His chest gleamed with celestial armor, every detail radiating immense power.
With his omniscient far-sight, Ra perceived the havoc Apophis was wreaking upon Egypt. Determined to confront the chaos serpent, he formed a fiery energy sphere around himself and descended toward Egypt like a blazing meteor.
As Ra appeared in the sky above the beleaguered city, encased in his fiery sphere, he glared at Apophis and commanded, "Enough, beast." With a mighty thrust of his spear, Ra unleashed a storm of solar flames, launching multiple miniature sun spheres at Apophis.
Apophis, already grievously injured from his battle with Merlin, bellowed in fear. Recognizing his diminished power and inability to confront Ra head-on, the demon serpent retreated across the horizon, vanishing into the darkness of the starry sky.
