Chapter 1 - Beginning

"Sweetie wake up! Breakfast is ready!"

Sunlight beams at him as he removes his blanket, revealing a messy tangle of hair atop his head. He blinks a few times, his eyes adjusting to the morning light filtering through the window. Rubbing his eyes, he turns towards the voice and sees his mother standing by the door, a warm smile on her face.

"Come on, your gonna be late for school. Surely you don't want to be late in the first day right?" His mother says.

"Alright Mom." Kaito swings his legs over the side of the bed and lets out a big yawn. He quickly gets up, stretches his arms, and heads towards the bathroom to freshen up. As he brushes his teeth, he can hear the clinking of dishes coming from the kitchen. The smell of pancakes and bacon wafts through the air, making his stomach growl in anticipation.

After quickly getting dressed in his uniform, Kaito joins his family at the breakfast table. His younger sister, Lily, is already there, eating a stack of pancakes with syrup dripping down her chin. His father is flipping pancakes on the stove, a big pot of coffee brewing beside him.

"Good morning, sleepyhead," His father greets him with a grin. "You excited for your first day in the academy?"

"Not really..." Kaito says, he sits on the chair and rest his head on the table. "I mean, I don't even know what my superpower is."

"Don't worry, Kaito," His mother reassures him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. "You'll discover your superpower in due time. It's all part of the excitement of starting at the academy."

"It's not fair Mom, other students there already have their superpowers." Kaito shrugs.

His father chuckles and ruffles Kaito's hair. "Hey, every hero has their own journey and unique path to discovering their powers. Yours will reveal itself when the time is right."

Feeling a bit better after his parents' words of encouragement, Kaito digs into the delicious breakfast spread in front of him. The warm pancakes and crispy bacon melt in his mouth, momentarily taking his mind off the nerves about the academy.

"Atleast this pancakes are always here to cheer me up!" Kaito says as he eats.

As he finishes his breakfast and gets ready to leave for his first day at the academy, his parents offer him reassuring smiles. Lily gives him a big hug, her face beaming with excitement for her big brother.

"Have a great day, Kaito," His mother says, handing him his backpack. "Remember, no matter what happens, we're always here for you."

"Yeah, I know that, love you Mom! Dad! And you too Lily!" He waves a goodbye to them as he starts walking.

Kaito steps out of the house into the bright morning sunshine, feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement churning in his stomach. As he walks down the familiar path towards the academy, he takes in the sights and sounds of the neighborhood he has known since he was a child.

Passing by the park where he used to play with his friends, memories of laughter and fun flood his mind. He smiles to himself, grateful for the moments he has shared with the people he cares about. But today, a new chapter begins as he embarks on his journey to discover his superpower and become a hero like those he has always admired.

Arriving at the academy, Kaito is greeted by a bustling scene of students milling about, chatting excitedly and comparing notes on their powers.

"Hey!" Someone grab his shoulder from behind. "Sup! Are you new here?"

Kaito turns around to see a tall girl with fiery red hair and bright green eyes looking at him with interest.

"Yeah, I am," Kaito replies. "I just transferred here."

The girl grins. "Awesome! I'm Yuuka. Welcome to the academy!" She looks at him expectantly.

"Uh... Thanks." Kaito replies.

"Hmm... What's your superpower?" Yuuka asks.

"Well, I don't know yet" Kaito explains, feeling a twinge of shame. "I haven't discovered it yet."

Yuuka's smile fades as she sees the disappointment on Kaito's face. "Don't worry, you'll figure it out eventually. I'm sure your superpower is something really cool and useful!"

Yuuka gives him a reassuring pat on the back before excusing herself to join her friends. Kaito watches her walk away, feeling a little better after her words of encouragement.

He takes a deep breath and steps forward, entering the academy. He navigates the labyrinth of hallways, passing by students of all types and abilities. Some have powers that are obvious, like a girl with glowing, blue hair who is telekinetically grabbing lunch boxes from a high shelf.

As he makes his way to his first class, Kaito can't help but feel a little jealous. He wishes he could do something powerful and useful like the other students. But he also knows that everyone's path to discovering their superpower is unique, and that he just needs to be patient.

As he enters the classroom, Kaito takes a seat at the back and opens the textbook to start his first day at the academy. Not long, the door opens and a tall man enters the classroom, he stands before the podium and all the students sits at their chair.

"Alright... Welcome to Class D, my name is Ken Ikutsuki, you can call me sir. As far as all of you know, this section is the lowest. I don't usually agree to teach a lower section but I made an exception this time." His voice is deep. "That's because this class has some names that interest me."

"Kaori Wynn!"

"Yes sir!" A boy stands up.

"Your father is Max Wynn right? A retired hero. You may sit down." Ken says as he goes back to look at the paper that listing all the students names.

"Yuki Matsuda!"

"Sir!" A girl wearing an eye glasses stands up.

"Daughter of Amagari Matsuda, the current number 10 hero. You may sit down." He goes back to look at the paper.

"Hmm... Shinji Yamagishi."

A boy stands up, it seems like he doesn't talk too much and his eyes are tired.

"You're the one who took down an A-class monster all by yourself," the room are filled with murmurs. "Silents! You may sit down Shinji." He goes back to look at the paper again.

"Oh this one interest me. Kaito Yamada."

"Sir!" Kaito stands up.

"You're the nephew of the current number 3 hero, I expect a lot from you." Ken looks at his watch. "Alright that took a lot of my time, let's start the class."
