Chapter Four: Metamorphosis

"Mom... Dad... Run! I'm not in control of myself," Orpheus said, struggling to resist his inner urges that threatened to tear his parents apart.

"No, son. This is part of your metamorphosis, You must kill us for you to be able to control yourself because if you don't you are just going to be killing people blindly. You must have the guilt of killing a loved one so that you can control yourself.

Orpheus tried to control himself but couldn't before he knew it tore his parents apart.

After coming back to his senses, Orpheus was filled with shock and disbelief as he realized the gravity of his actions. Stuttering, he whispered, "W-what have I done?" He was struggling with an internal battle as the wild side of him was trying to communicate with him. He could hear others talking, and even a single drop of an item touching the ground sounded amplified to him. This was an unfamiliar state for Orpheus, and he was finding it challenging to cope with this newfound sensitivity.

After realizing the extent of his powers, Orpheus understood that he had to leave to protect himself. The fear of being hunted down by others who would either seek to exploit his abilities or eliminate him in the name of maintaining balance in nature loomed over him. Driven by the desire to uncover the truth about his powers, Orpheus knew that the only person who could provide him with answers was the witch who lived deep in the forest beyond the village. The next day, he carefully packed some essentials and set out on his journey to find the witch, hoping that she could shed some light on his mysterious abilities.

In the world of the supernatural, there is a strict rule that nothing from the human realm be allowed to enter. Despite this, Orpheus embarked on a journey to this realm, but he was weakened due to the incomplete merging of the two beasts inside him. As a result, he couldn't utilize his super speed entirely, but he kept pushing forward, determined to reach his destination. After countless obstacles and challenges, he finally arrived at a witch hut, where he hoped to find the answer to his questions.

As he approached the door, Orpheus was surprised to see it suddenly fly open before he had even had a chance to knock. A tall, stooped figure stood before him, and as she spoke, her voice was filled with a strange, otherworldly resonance.

"Welcome, Master Orpheus," she said in a spooky tone. "Your parents came to me for help, and now you are here."

Orpheus was taken aback by the witch's words. "You know me," he said as he walked in, curious to know more about the mysterious woman and her connection to his family.

The witch explained everything to him, telling him how his parents had sought her out to help make him the most powerful being in the world. She revealed that they had used dark magic to transform him into a monster, hoping to increase his already impressive powers.

Orpheus was furious. "So they made me a monster for power," he said, his anger rising. "I was already powerful - I was a legacy vampire. What more did they want? Was being a bloodsucker not enough?"

The witch listened to Orpheus's words carefully, sensing the deep pain and anger that lay behind them. She knew that she had to tread carefully, for she had played a part in his parents' misguided plan.

The witch, with a serious face, pulled out a mysterious envelope from her cloak. The envelope was old and tattered, and it looked like it had been kept hidden for a while. The witch slowly opened the envelope and revealed its contents to him. The envelope contained detailed information about the human "familiar" that have been serving his family for generations. The information included the names, pictures, locations, and contact numbers of the familiar. Familiars were human servants who served the vampire family in exchange for wealth and other resources. This was a well-known practice among the vampire community.

After receiving the envelope, Orpheus decided to stay back in the supernatural realm instead of going to the human realm. With time, his presence became known to the inhabitants of the supernatural realm, and many individuals attempted to assassinate him. However, Orpheus proved to be resilient and all attempts on his life were unsuccessful. Despite the constant threat to his life, Orpheus managed to establish himself in the supernatural realm and became known for his exceptional abilities.

One hundred years had passed, yet some people still hadn't learned their lesson and continued to attempt to assassinate him. However, despite the numerous attempts on his life, Orpheus had gained a wealth of knowledge and experience that helped him stay one step ahead of his attackers.

But Orpheus wasn't the only one to benefit from his years of experience. He had also made a good friend - Daniel, or Danny as he was often called. One day, while Orpheus was out, he stumbled upon a group of people who were attacking Danny, attempting to kill him.

Initially, Orpheus considered walking away. However, he quickly realized that he couldn't just stand by and watch him beaten up. So, he stepped in and saved Danny from certain death.

Danny was a legacy vampire but the difference was that his father was a legacy vampire while his mother was a normal vampire. However, he was starved of blood and badly injured, which made his healing process a slow one. Fortunately, Orpheus came to his rescue and helped him until he was able to stand on his own two feet.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Danny expressed his thanks to Orpheus for saving his life. Orpheus told Danny that he was free to leave now that he had fully healed. However, Danny had other ideas. Being a rogue vampire, people were always trying to kill him wherever he went. So, he begged Orpheus to let him stay with him, promising to serve him in any way he could.

Orpheus was surprised by Danny's request as he knew how dangerous it could be to take in a vampire. But after seeing Danny's sincerity and fearlessness, he agreed to let Danny stay with him, warning him that he couldn't guarantee his safety as people were after him too.

From then on, Danny and Orpheus traveled together, becoming fast friends, Even though Orpheus didn't consider them friends from the start, but they got closer as time went by. For years, they searched together for the portal that would lead them to the human realm. Despite the dangers they faced, they never lost hope and continued to believe that one day they would find what they were looking for.
