Chapter Thirty-eight: Lyra

"I heard the voice again," he admitted, his voice low and mysterious. "It's been calling my name, and I can't shake the feeling that something is off."

Camilla's brow furrowed in concern. "But are you sure you don't know who it is? And what do they want?"

Orpheus's expression turned grim. "I don't know".

"What about Raymond and Danny? Call them, at least they'll be here if anything goes wrong," Camilla said.

"Yeah, I will," Orpheus said to put Camilla at ease.

"I don't want to leave, but I have to go see Alisha's parents. I'll be back later," Camilla said.

"Okay, should I come with you?" Orpheus asked.

"No, need," Camilla said and went to get dressed.

Camilla got dressed and was about to leave, but Orpheus followed her downstairs to the gate. "You know you don't have to follow me to the gate, right?" she asked with a smile on her face.

"I know, I just want to. I'm already missing you," Orpheus said, drawing her in for a kiss.
