Trouble at the office Door

The next morning, Shui Yi walked out of the bedroom to find Bai having breakfast at the table.

"That's my new suit." She exclaimed 

"Oh," Shui Yi sighed. "Change the Dressing." She pointed at her opened dressing.

"Don't be so reckless next time." Bai got up, and she grabbed the medical kit in the cupboard behind Shui Yi in the kitchen.

As she treated the wound, she asked, "You going to the office?" Shui Yi nods. 

She pressed the dressing firmly and asked, "You plan to go with this?"

With the scarf she kept in her hands, Shui Yi wrapped it around her hair, covering the dressing on her right and letting her hair fall down on her left, creating a chic finish. 

Bai Lu lets out a sigh and bids farewell to her.

|At the Office|

Shui Yi is studying the documents, distracted, and keeps checking the watch on her wrist.

Its past 2pm , she lets out a gasp.

She left the study table after pushing the papers onto the desk. She continuously roams to and fro from table to sofa.

"Ah! Gosh! That guy never fails to annoy me!"

Zhi Li, who, on hearing Shui Yi complaining as she entered, asked, "Is everything okay, Lady Carina?"

"Hmm," her eyes darted. "Is it time for the meeting?"

"Yes! The strategy teams have come up with few ideas for the game." Zhi Li handed a file to Carina.

"Other than the strategy teams, did anyone else contribute ideas?"

"None," Zhi Li replied

"Hmm." She walks out of her office all ecquiped, and Zhi Li followed her.

As usual, Shui Yi placed herself in the distant chair by the table in the meeting room. The discussion about the ideas brought by the teams took place.Shui Yi looked into the files presented thoroughly.

After Mr. Qiachi's presentation, Mr. Jiang continued.

At the end of the meeting

"Let's stick to Alchiles," declared lady Carina

Alchiles is an idea imparted from Greek mythology; it is a very ideal concept for a game.

With that said, Shui Yi leaves the office.

"Congrats, Mr. Jaing!"Mr. Qiachi, pressing his teeth tightly, walked to him as he put forth his hand, with the corners of his mouth half lifted up slightly, a see-through fake smile.

"We will be busy for awhile now. Don't you think!!?" said Mr. Jaing with his assistant as they left. He walked past the hand, awaiting a shake.

"They meticulously won over the cunning Qiachi." Shui Yi, who waited by the door, exhaled; underneath her mask, her lips broadened.

The teams aren't very friendly out of Shui Yi's sight; rather, they thought. Shui Yi was aware of the things between them. Mr. Qiachi, team leader of team A, stole team B's presentations, plans, and illustrations for the majority of the time. Unfortunately, the unprepared team B was caught off guard, and they had to compromise on major projects as they were stuck to present their ideas after team A, without any evidence; a planned robbery by Mr. Qiachi, they couldn't help but stare with their mouths wide open at the sight. 

"They got their revenge!" Zhi Li added, walking along with Shui Yi to the office.

"Nay!—" Shui Yi shook her head sideways in disagreement as they entered the president's office; she continued, "It can't be this boring" lowering her eyebrows.

Lady Carina in her office sat for a coffee with Zhi Li and her phone rang. 

"Someone barged in" said a voice in the phone

Shui Yi rushed to the door, flustered, "Oh no." 

Zhi Li on Shui Yi"s reaction, she questioned, "Could it be?!?" Shui Yi lost her calm demeanor at the office; only one person can cause this. Obviously, Zhi Li knows who!

"NO–" she paused, running back to the couch for her mask. She finished with, "I'm certain!"

Shui Yi gathered herself in calm composure as she stood by the sight of Mrs. Chen entering the office. Zhi Li, on the other hand, looked perplexed. It was the first time Mrs. Chen made her visit to The Night House; of course, never an abrupt visit anywhere.

"Did you have to barge like that?" asked Shui Yi, making way to the sofa

Mrs. Chen approached the couch and remarked, "I found my way in." Zhi Li then proceeded to the platform on their left to pour coffee.

"So--" Mrs. Chen looked around and asked, "Where are you--"

Where am I living?! Not telling!"

Just stay at a hotel!!" Shui Yi interrupted. She knew the reason for Mrs. Chen's sudden visit.

Damn!! She had come along the way long?! 

"Your Boyfriend??!" Mrs. Chen placed the cup on the stool across and glared at Shui Yi.

"He's on a business trip." She replied and Her eyes wandered

"Then I'll have to stay at yours." Mrs. Chen declared, rising from her seat, she took a glance at shui yi "Not bad"

"No chance for negotiations?!" Shui yi already knew Mrs. Chen made her final decision when she stood up. She merely wished to explore every option. She sat with her hands resting on her legs, her body forward, and her head lowered.

"Hmm" Mrs. Chen gave a head shake 

She rose up "Got it!" she waved at Zhi Li, who stood afar by the snack counter. "Let's go" she added.

Zhi Li went ahead of them. She arranged the drive to Shui Yi's residence.This would be her family's first visit to her house since her moving out. Mrs. Chen visited her multiple times but never stayed over at her place, hence the first. Shui Yi visits her family once in a while.Her family lives in a different city where their businesses are situated. She wanted to start separately; she moved away farther to another city. Mrs. Chen is very supportive of her career choice, except for her father. He wants her to take over family business. These two have been at odds ever since Shui Yi made her choice. Indeed, since then, her father has never paid Shui Yi a visit. Their only encounters have been at family dinners. 

The irony She thought since she did not even disclose her residence to her, Shui Yi reflected, she now invites her to stay. Irony Indeed.
