A Giant Owl Soared Over the Dangerous Cliffs.
Although Kaito, sitting in front, shielded Shion from the wind, she still maintained a cautious posture while seated on the owl's back, and couldn't help but tug at Kaito's clothing.
She looked at the familiar scenery below with a complex gaze.
Even now, she felt a sense of unreality, as if she were dreaming.
Could the tragic fate that had plagued generations of priestesses in the Land of Demons really end today?
She glanced at the young man sitting in front of her, who remained steady as a rock despite the fierce wind, and tightly gripped the bell passed down from her mother.
"Thank you for appearing, Kaito-kun. Mom, please wait for me."
...
"Are we there?" Kaito looked at the underground palace gates beneath the cliff.
Shion cautiously peered ahead and said, "Yes, Moryo's spirit is sealed here!"
"Alright then, let's go down!" Gurē flapped his wings and descended towards the bottom of the cliff.
The wind roared.
"Who goes there?" The guards at the palace entrance drew their swords.
"No need for alarm, it's me," Shion's voice rang out.
As Gurē's claws touched the ground, Kaito extended his hand, helping Shion to gently dismount from its back.
"Lady Priestess!"
"Greetings, Lady Priestess!"
The guards knelt on one knee upon seeing Shion.
Kaito stepped back, leaving the situation for her to handle.
"No need for such formalities," Shion gestured with her hand.
The guards stood up in unison, and the leading middle-aged warrior stepped forward to ask, "Lady Priestess, what brings you here?"
Shion didn't want to elaborate, so she directly instructed, "Guard the entrance well; we need to enter."
The middle-aged warrior looked surprised and asked, "Lady Priestess, is there a problem with the seal?"
"The seal is intact. I have come to completely resolve the matter of Moryo," Shion declared.
"What?"
"Lady Priestess intends to completely deal with that demon?"
"Is it really possible?"
The guards began to murmur in shock and uncertainty.
"Please reconsider, Lady Shion," the middle-aged warrior objected, "That demon was sealed at the cost of your mother Miroku's life!"
"Yes, Lady Priestess."
"The seal is currently stable. Please do not take unnecessary risks."
"If that demon is released, it would spell doom for the entire world."
"Please reconsider, Lady Priestess!"
The other guards also voiced their concerns.
Shion pulled Kaito to her side and introduced him, "Do not worry, Kaito-kun is a powerful onmyoji. With his help, I will completely eliminate Moryo and free the Land of Demons from this shadow."
"Lady Shion!" The middle-aged warrior's expression turned even more severe as he continued to dissuade her, "Guarding Moryo has been the duty of our nation for generations. How can you trust an outsider so easily?"
He looked suspiciously at the young man beside the priestess and said, "In the past, there have been those who sought to use the demon's power for their own ends."
"Kaito-kun is not like that! He is an onmyoji!" Shion said loudly, displeased, "You should trust my foresight as a priestess!"
Her words changed the expressions of most of the guards, but the middle-aged warrior remained unmoved.
"Your foresight can only predict death. The absence of such a vision means no one will die, but it doesn't rule out other unfortunate events."
He bowed sternly and said, "Please do not take unnecessary risks, Lady Shion."
"You!" Shion's face fell, and she glared angrily.
"This is troublesome," Kaito sighed, drawing everyone's attention.
"In that case, I'll have to take matters into my own hands."
His eyes turned red, and the five-pointed star began to spin slowly.
In an instant, a red light flashed in all the guards' eyes.
"Continue guarding the gate," he commanded casually, and then started walking towards the underground palace doors.
"Yes!" The guards, including the middle-aged warrior, responded in unison and obediently returned to their posts.
"What is this..." Shion looked at the bizarre scene in front of her, bewildered.
"It's just a small illusion. Don't worry, Shion," Kaito placed his hand on the door, "Arguing further is pointless; let's act quickly."
"Alright," Shion quickly followed him.
"Gurē, please guard the entrance to prevent any unexpected incidents," Kaito tossed a paper package to Gurē.
"Got it!" Gurē's huge form shrank, transforming back into human form. He caught the package, opened it, and started munching on dried meat.
Creak.
Kaito pushed open the two dust-covered doors with force.
Two flames automatically ignited on the walls behind the doors, illuminating the dim space.
"Let's go."
Kaito stepped onto the downward staircase, followed closely by Shion.
After descending the long staircase, a vast underground space appeared before them.
Countless tall stone soldiers stood in neat rows, stretching out of sight.
Above the soldiers hung ropes adorned with numerous talismans.
In the center of the formation was a pathway leading to the distant seal of Moryo.
Kaito stepped onto the pathway, observing the seal.
The main part of the seal was two stone doors covered in talismans, suppressed by a large stone above them.
The stone was a gray boulder, wrapped in thick ropes, connected by white paper streamers.
Kaito approached the seal and began to connect with the Dragon Pulse.
...
In a hidden residence in the Land of Demons.
A middle-aged man with long black hair sat inside, with two men and a woman in white robes standing respectfully by his side.
"Lord Huan!" Another man in white robes suddenly appeared, kneeling on one knee to report, "The priestess has entered the sealing ground."
"What did you say?" Huan stood up in shock and anger.
"The priestess Shion has suddenly entered the sealing ground with a strange man," the kneeling man repeated.
Huan frowned and asked, "Did you find out why the priestess went to the sealing ground?"
"I apologize, Lord Huan. However, according to our spies in the palace, the man with her is Uchiha Kaito, who has recently gained fame in the ninja world."
"Uchiha Kaito? The man who dealt with the demons in the Box of Ultimate Bliss at Hozuki Castle?" Huan paced anxiously. "Damn it! My dark medical ninjutsu isn't fully developed yet, and now..."
"Lord Huan, leave it to us," the woman among the three said. "The Box of Ultimate Bliss can't compare to Lord Moryo. With the four of us, Kaito is no match."
"Don't underestimate the enemy!" Huan scolded, making a decision, "Although the dark medical ninjutsu is incomplete, there's no time to waste. Come with me."
He walked out of the room, giving serious instructions, "We will advance the plan. Hold off Kaito for me. Once I unleash Lord Moryo's power, nothing will stop the undead army!"
"Yes, Lord Huan!"
