"Something fun?" I asked.
"Mm-hm, let's play some games before the coach gets back. I mean, we have a lot of time on our hands, and the workload isn't very much." He said as we stayed silent as if reasoning with him.
"Yeah, that's true."
"I haven't had fun in a while. Let's play a lot." Ryuto said.
"Well... Captain?"
"Don't tell me you'd be a kill-joy." Akatsuki said.
"I mean... what could ever go wrong?" I asked.
"Cool!"
Yusuke told us about a combination of two games. The first was tag, and the other was an obstacle course. We were to play tag during an obstacle course.
After bringing out the equipments; cones, ropes, bars, sticks, dummies, foot balls, tennis balls, a bucket of water and the monkey post, we played rock, paper, scissors to determine who will be 'it'.
"Ugh... I had a feeling that I'd be it." Akatsuki said.
"Your luck sucks." I said, holding my abdomen while trying not to laugh so hard.
"Better run so fast, or I'd get you." He said as we ran towards the start of the obstacle course.
After Akatsuki counted to 20, we all began running through the obstacles.
"Dammit! Is there also a banana peel here? I didn't see anything!" Teijiro shouted as Akatsuki walked towards him, grinning widely.
"Haha! It's Teijiro now." Ryuto said, hanging on a bar.
"Seriously, Ryuto, are you a monkey?" Akaji asked.
*He's definitely enjoying that.* I thought.
"Haha." He laughed, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Ah!" He shouted as his hand slipped, and he fell on a bucket of water beneath the bar.
Teijiro counted to 10, and we continued. He ran towards Kimishita since his area wasn't too hard to go through.
"You shouldn't have come to me!" Kimishita said, laughing before kicking a bucket filled with tiny balls.
"Ah, ah ah!" Teijiro shouted as he fell.
"I forgot there were balls there." He said, standing and dusting his butt.
"Run faster, or you won't get any of us!" Yusuke said.
Teijiro tried standing again but slipped and fell.
"Are you sure your knee no longer hurts?" I asked, walking towards him.
"Nah, I'm alright now. It wasn't that much of a deal." He said, staring at his knee, and before I knew what was going on, he did a 6-step, making me fall beside him.
"Looks like you're it now." He said, smiling as I looked at him in disbelief.
"Really?" I asked, scattering the balls and standing.
"Haha, he got him!" Yusuke laughed.
"Don't be too trusting, Atsushi-kun." Koenji said.
"1..." I began counting as they went back to their positions.
We continued playing for a while till evening came.
"Oh God! Guys, we made a mess here. Let's clean up before they get back." I said as we began moving the stuff we used into the equipment store.
We arranged the place, then the training room. We were just done with the unused room when the coach got back.
"Hmm? Looks like you guys are done working." He said as we smiled nervously.
"Of course!" Akaji said.
"W-why wouldn't we finish working?" Ryuto asked.
"Well, it's already late. We bought some stuff for you guys. Eat and have a good night sleep." He said as we nodded.
After he walked up the stairs, we all heaved a sigh of relief before slumping onto the couch.
"We barely finished that." Kimishita said.
"For real, I was scared for a second man."
"Hey, look at Atsushi. He looks like he would have died any minute." Akatsuki said as they laughed.
We shared the snacks the couch bought for all of us. The girls bragged about their free time and how the coach bought a lot of stuff for them.
"Well, we enjoyed ourselves too." Ryuto said.
"Yeah, we played tag and obstacle course."
"Tell me about it."
They began discussing the game we played that afternoon. At several intervals, I'd cover my face in shame. I turned on my phone, and that was when I saw a notification.
"Guys!" I shouted, standing immediately.
"What?" They asked.
"Look." I said, showing them the handset.
"Oh no."
"We are cooked."
"Haha, still having fun talking about tag?" Chika asked.
The message I got was from the coach. He sent it about 5 hours ago, saying that we should also clean up the small building beside the dorm. He planned on moving in there with the other guys coach.
"Let's g, guys."
"We have to be quiet too, so he won't hear us."
We all went to the building, unlocked the door with the key which the coach left on the centre table and picked up cleaning equipment.
The room was kinda dust, but that was the only problem with it. It wasn't really dirty or scattered.
"Thank goodness it's not so dirty. I would have cried."
"Let's just get this over with."
After cleaning the room, we all sat lazily on the floor of the room. We rested for a while before going back to the dormitory and going to our different rooms, where I stayed with Teijiro while waiting for the two other roommates.
