We see the team as they were walking down the huge city, observing the bustling activity around them. Soldiers, some of the same ones who had attacked the ship and others who were taller and more robust, moved about with purpose.
"This is our HQ, where we fix our soldiers and our weapons," Julius explained, leading them through a large, industrial area.
Kryzius looked around in surprise, taking in the impressive setup. "So, you're a captain and a mechanic?"
Julius nodded and chuckled. "We can say that... I guess I wear many hats around here. In a place like Usha Town, versatility is key."
As they continued walking, they passed various workshops where skilled mechanics worked on repairing and upgrading the robotic soldiers. Sparks flew from welding torches, and the hum of machinery filled the air. The sight was both awe-inspiring and a testament to the town's resilience.
Aeti observed a group of mechanics working on a particularly large and advanced robot. "These soldiers are impressive. How do you manage to keep them all operational?"
Julius smiled, a hint of pride in his eyes. "It's a constant challenge, but we have a great team here. Everyone knows their role, and we work together to keep things running smoothly. The attacks have made it harder, but we've managed to hold our own so far."
Rina, still a bit wary from the earlier encounter, couldn't help but ask, "What about the Oxtywraiths? How are your defenses holding up against them?"
Julius's expression grew serious. "It's been tough. The Oxtywraiths are unlike anything we've faced before. They're relentless and unpredictable. But with your help, I believe we can turn the tide."
Julius's expression grew serious. "It's been tough. The Oxtywraiths are unlike anything we've faced before. They're relentless and unpredictable. But with your help, I believe we can turn the tide."
Kryzius frowned. "Wait... so you were the one who called us?"
Julius stood silent for a moment, looking into the distance. "...Not really, it was our—"
"C-Captain!"
The team's eyes turned toward the approaching figure. It was a horse mecha girl with a human-like body, white skin, short brown hair, and mechanic goggles. She wore a black shirt and looked urgent.
Julius looked frustrated. "What is it, Tina? Can't you see I'm—"
Tina interrupted, her voice filled with urgency. "Hyperwraiths are attacking the city again!"
Julius's eyes widened in alarm. "Fuck... NOW?!"
He turned to Kryzius and the team. "I'm sorry, but we have to cut this short. Follow me, we need to get to the command center immediately!"
As they hurried through the corridors, alarms began to blare, and the atmosphere grew tense. The team could feel the weight of the situation pressing down on them. They reached the command center, where a flurry of activity was already underway.
Julius quickly took charge, barking orders to his subordinates. "Get all units to their stations! Prepare the defense protocols!"
Kryzius turned to his team. "We need to help them. Rina, Yamaha, Darius, and others, follow me. Aeti, go call our soldiers to help us!"
The team nodded and sprang into action, each member ready to do their part. As Kryzius led his group toward the frontline defenses, Aeti rushed to summon reinforcements. The city was under siege, and it was up to them to protect it.
--
The team sprinted through the streets of Usha Town, the tropical beauty of the city contrasting sharply with the chaos unfolding around them. Palm trees swayed gently in the breeze, and vibrant flowers lined the pathways, but the scene was marred by the destruction caused by the new enemy. The Hyperwraiths were massive, hulking creatures, towering over buildings with jagged, metallic exoskeletons and glowing red eyes. They moved with a terrifying grace, smashing through structures and attacking civilians with ruthless efficiency.
Kryzius and his team reached the heart of the city, where the battle was most intense. He glanced at Aeti, who was connected via the earphone. "Uh, Aeti, Connie... do you know what those are?"
Aeti's voice crackled through, filled with shock. "Those are definitely not normal Oxtywraiths..."
Connie who were listening, stood in shock aswell "Yes, i never saw those either..."
Julius, who was nearby, fired at one of the creatures, hitting it in a vulnerable spot. "No need to search, Chap. Those aren't your ordinary Oxtywraiths."
Kryzius clenched his fists, his expression grim. "We'll talk about this later."
Aeti and Connie: Alright!
The fight was brutal and chaotic. Sara darted in and out with her dual blades, slashing at the Hyperwraiths' legs to cripple them, but their tough exoskeletons made it difficult. Rina provided cover fire, her bullets bouncing off the creatures' armor until she found weak spots. Yamaha engaged one in close combat, using his immense strength to wrestle it to the ground, while Darius unleashed a flurry of precise strikes, aiming for joints and exposed wiring.
Kryzius waded into the fray, his fists a blur of motion. He smashed through the Hyperwraiths with barbaric ferocity, each punch landing with a bone-crunching impact. Blood and oil sprayed as he tore into them, feeling an odd sense of familiarity, as if his body remembered a weapon he no longer had. He shrugged off the feeling, focusing on the immediate threat.
One Hyperwraith lunged at him, and he sidestepped, delivering a powerful uppercut that sent it crashing into a nearby building. Another swung a massive claw at him, but he caught it mid-air, twisting and tearing it off before pummeling the creature into submission.
Julius fought alongside them, his expertise and firepower invaluable. He coordinated with the team, directing their attacks to maximize effectiveness. "Focus on the joints and eyes! They're the weakest points!"
The battle raged on, the team working in perfect unison. Despite the overwhelming strength of the Hyperwraiths, they managed to hold their ground, pushing the creatures back and protecting the civilians.
Alex slashed through another Hyperwraith with his huge sword, panting heavily. "Is there no end to these bastards or what?!"
Julius fired off a few more rounds, his voice steady despite the chaos. "Don't worry, the squad will come soon."
Alex glanced at him, confused. "Squad? What-"
Suddenly, a massive airplane appeared in the sky, casting a shadow over the battlefield. It was a colossal, futuristic aircraft with sleek, angular lines and glowing blue and white lights along its body. The engines roared as it descended, and the back opened, revealing a swarm of soldiers with dark armor and glowing blue lines.
Among the soldiers, three figures stood out. One was a girl with dark purple hair and green eyes, her pale skin contrasting with her black suit. The second was a muscly, grey-furred wolf with yellow eyes, also clad in a black suit. The last one was a tall, imposing woman robot with long white hair flowing down her back and a masked helmet, wearing black armor and wielding a long sword.
The soldiers descended from the airplane, landing gracefully on the ground and immediately engaging the Hyperwraiths. Kryzius and his team watched in awe as the newcomers joined the fray.
Kryzius's eyes were drawn to the white-haired woman. Before he could ask who she was, she dashed forward at incredible speed, her sword slicing through the air with precision. She tore into the Hyperwraiths, her movements a blur as she dismantled them with ease.
The purple-haired girl and the muscly wolf followed suit, their attacks equally devastating. The girl used a combination of agility and pinpoint strikes, while the wolf relied on brute strength and ferocity. Together, they turned the tide of the battle, pushing the Hyperwraiths back with relentless efficiency.
Kryzius called out to Julius, still watching the white-haired woman in action. "Who are they?"
Julius fired off another shot, a small smile on his face. "That's the special ops unit. The best of the best. And that white-haired woman? She's their leader. You'll see soon enough why she's called the Valkyrie."
The battle continued, but with the arrival of the special ops unit, the Hyperwraiths began to falter.
