Feni

The white-haired woman stared at the tall robot, her expression unreadable but her eyes intense. Roxanne, sensing the tension, quickly introduced the team. "Well, uh... I'm Roxanne," she began, her voice a bit nervous. "The big wolf there is Feni, and we have... our captain...?"

The white-haired woman cut Roxanne off with a cold, piercing glare aimed directly at Kryzius. It was a look that spoke volumes—one of challenge, perhaps even distrust. After a brief, tense moment, she turned on her heel and began walking back inside without another word. Just as she disappeared from view, she spoke one word over her shoulder, her voice as sharp as her gaze.

"Hela."

Kryzius felt the weight of her presence linger even after she was gone. There was something about Hela that unsettled him, something that went beyond mere tension. It was as if she carried a secret that could unravel everything if given the chance.

Roxanne, trying to lighten the mood, gave a nervous chuckle. "Well... that's Hela for you. She's not much for small talk."

Fenrir grunted in agreement, his yellow eyes still fixed on Kryzius, as if he were trying to size him up as well.

Kryzius nodded, still processing the encounter. "Hela... got it." He knew this partnership was going to be anything but simple.

Roxanne smiled, trying to ease the tension. "So, I saw you guys helping out with the Hyperwraiths earlier... that was really cool."

Alex shrugged, a mix of frustration and exhaustion on his face. "Well, we were kinda unprepared. Those things came out of nowhere."

Feni, the large wolf, nodded in agreement. "They have a way of doing that. Hyperwraiths are unpredictable and dangerous. Even we don't always see them coming."

Roxanne chuckled lightly, "Yeah, they like to keep us on our toes. But you guys handled yourselves well, considering the circumstances."

Kryzius glanced at the door Hela had walked through. "We did what we had to, but this whole situation feels off. There's something more going on here, isn't there?"

Roxanne's smile faded slightly, and she exchanged a quick look with Feni. "You're not wrong. There's a lot happening behind the scenes, stuff even we don't fully understand yet."

Feni crossed his arms, his gaze serious. "Stick around long enough, and you'll see what we mean. Just be ready for anything."

Rina sighed, "Great. More surprises."

Aeti leaned in closer to Kryzius, her voice barely a whisper. "Master... do you really think we can trust them?"

Kryzius kept his eyes on Roxanne and Feni, who were now discussing something quietly between themselves. His expression remained neutral, but Aeti could sense the tension in him.

"We don't have much choice right now," Kryzius whispered back. "But stay alert. We need to keep our guard up. There's something they're not telling us, and until we know what that is, we can't fully trust anyone here."

Aeti nodded, her concern still evident but tempered by her unwavering loyalty. "Understood, Master. I'll keep a close eye on them."

Kryzius gave her a reassuring glance before turning his attention back to the others. "For now, we play along. But be ready for anything."

--

The team found themselves inside a large, dimly lit room dominated by an enormous TV screen at the front. The space was sparse, with only a few tables scattered around, occupied by the soldiers they had seen earlier. Kryzius couldn't help but feel a bit anxious as he scanned the room, noting the somber atmosphere. Feni stood at the front, her presence commanding as she addressed the room.

"I would first like to introduce Vanguard X," Feni announced, her voice firm and authoritative. The soldiers in the room turned their attention to Kryzius and his team, their expressions unreadable.

Kryzius gave a small nod, trying to steady his nerves. He wasn't used to this kind of formal introduction, especially in such a tense environment. Feni noticed his unease but continued without missing a beat.

"Now that everyone is here," Feni began, her tone growing more serious, "it's time to explain the situation we're facing. The threat we're dealing with started as a virus—a virus unlike anything we've seen before. It infects the Oxtywraiths, mutating them into what we now call Hyperwraiths. These creatures are stronger, more aggressive, and far more dangerous than their predecessors. The virus spreads quickly, and so far, we haven't found a way to contain it."

Kryzius listened intently, his mind racing with questions. "We could ask our researcher to he—" he began, but before he could finish, Feni cut him off.

"Thanks for the offer, but we already have enough researchers in our own team," Feni said curtly, her tone leaving little room for argument.

"Jeez, rude much..." Rina muttered under her breath, rolling her eyes.

Kryzius glanced at Rina, then back at Feni, who continued to explain the dire situation. The tension in the room was palpable, and it was clear that the stakes were higher than they had initially realized.

Feni's stern expression softened into a more neutral, but still serious, demeanor as she addressed Kryzius and the team. "Now that you know about the situation, I guess you also have some information to share?"

Sara stepped forward, her tone slightly apologetic. "We just got here, so there's not much information we could gather."

Feni sighed in disappointment, clearly not pleased with the response. "As I thought..." she muttered, her voice carrying a hint of frustration. After a brief pause, she continued, "Anyway, we'll continue gathering and discussing information tonight." She shot Kryzius a slight glare, her eyes narrowing just enough to send a message, before turning and walking away.

Kryzius watched her go, feeling the weight of the situation settling on his shoulders. The team exchanged uneasy glances, sensing the tension in the air. It was clear that this alliance, if it could even be called that, was off to a rocky start.

'Why do i feel like she doesn't seem to like me.'
