chapter Two: Nian Junting's wedding

Hearing that she had gotten a divorce I was naturally happy though the expression on my face remained neutral. 12 years, I had waited for her, this time no one is taking her away from me again. The moment I got the information she was home I immediately went downstairs and was able to catch her on time from collapsing to the floor. She was drenched from head to toe.

Her pale skin was even more obvious as her hair stuck to her face. The slap mark was very obvious against such delicate skin and the anger within me exploded that the servants around me were frightened to death.

"What happened?"

"We... We don't know.. young Miss just came in like this and fainted"

The Nian family! How dare they lay a finger on my property.

I looked up immediately.

"Prepare a hot bath immediately, and ginger soup now, also turn up the heater in her room before she catches a cold" the servants immediately dispersed.

"Little xi??" Her father came down.

"She's okay, just tired" I told him as I carried her into my arm, her scent engulfing me, still the same as ever.

I carried her to her room as her father followed behind me. I left her to the maids to immediately help her out of her cloth and everything and only went back to her room when she was resting.

As we both looked at her, he said.

"Get them to prepare a grand ball in welcome for little xi"

"Do you want to use this opportunity to announce her to the world?"

He nodded, "name her as my only successor, I want the world to know her"

"It could be dangerous"

"With you by her side, I'm not worried"

"The Nian family only son wedding is tomorrow right?"  I nodded, "based on my source yeah"

"I'll like to wait for little xi to wake up before knowing what she plans to do, but send them a surprise gift"

"You don't need to tell me twice" the killing intent on my heart aroused as I gazed at Xiao xi longer.

Sitting down beside her bed, I took the cream and rubbed it tenderly on her cheek.

"Are you still in love with her?"

"Uncle, you know I have always wanted what is best for her, she also has her choice"

"Why don't you tell her?"

"I just don't want to put a burden on her shoulder "

"You guys grew up together, how could she not realize but I did "

She was a clumsy, and pure girl of course she wouldn't know, I smiled.

The following day, the news of Nian junting and shin Jia Yi was plastered all over the newspaper, they were really going all out to hurt my Xiao xi. I smiled as I ordered the driver to get a newspaper then drove to the Ning mansion.

"Mr Li l, young Miss has woken up just now" the maidservant told me and I nodded and walked up the stairs. Knocking on her door, I heard her said.

"Come in " that voice, I opened the door and walked in. "Brother Hanchen!" She ran into my arms catching me unconsciously. She was so small in my arms.

"I missed you brother Hanchen"

"Someone looks so hyper this morning, why?"

She looked up at me smiling and my heart skipped a beat. "Because today is Junting's wedding, I'm so excited " she saw the newspaper in my hand and snatched it away from my hand, I dragged her to sit and brought the food already set on the table closer. "Be good, now eat"

"I'm too excited I can't eat" she looked through the newspaper. "They're really going all out, I wonder what would happen when they find out the truth"

"For someone who just got a divorce, you seem happy he's remarrying"

I took the food and fed her and she ate. "Because once the truth is okay, the shock on their face is worth looking"

"Why would you go marry someone like that even though they're better people"

"Brother Hanchen, you don't mean you do you ?" She looked at me smiling. And I smiled and nodded.

"That would be too awkward " "not to me"

"Well I'm not settling down any moment for now for the time being" she said and continued eating. I just smiled when the door opened.

"What do you mean you're not settling down anytime soon?"

"Daddy?"

"You still know how to come back huh? I'm not your father anymore!"

"Daddy, come on, I realized my mistake already, forgive me huh, at least I still came back "

I knew he was just throwing a fit, he really loved her.

"You're okay though? Hmm, that Nian family better be ready!! They cannot treat my only daughter anyhow!!"

"Exactly " she nodded like a child.

"Come back here and eat" I told her.

"What do you guys plan to do?"

"Well their fortune was because of you, so natural we have to take back everything we gave them" I told her.

"I'm tired though" she yawned.

I rubbed her hair. "There's a grand ball in your honour tomorrow night, father wants to use this opportunity to announce you to the world and name you as the only heir to the company"

"Really daddy?" He nodded

"I'm already getting old in age, I naturally have to leave it to you, of course with Hanchen by your side, I have nothing to worry about, of course the assests is up to a multi trillion dollar"

"What? Trillion?" She gawked.

"And that's just the money, there's still land, estates, restaurants, hotels, and other entriprises "  I told her.

"I can do it, I'll make you proud daddy, I promise"

"Of course, I know you would make me proud, you're my daughter, my flesh and blood, and I have full trust in you, your mom would be proud"

"Thank you daddy"

"You just need to do one thing, before you get the money"

We looked at him confused.

"You must be engaged to Li Hanchen"
