chapter Four: I want you back Ning xi

Ning xi's POV

          I watched in satisfaction as Nian Junting's face was.drained of color, that would teach you right, bastard.

I looked in and smiled, then bowed to everyone. "Thank you everyone for gracing the occasion, as I just returned, my father insisted on throwing a ball, please enjoy your time" Everyone clapped.

A heavy shadow came beside me just as everyone was mingling about. I looked up and saw Hanchen. "I really don't like the eyes you give other men, it makes me oh so jealous as your fiancee"

I smiled. "Brother Hanchen, this is just any smile, this is a smile of satisfaction, I'm happy, besides hey, I'm not your fiancee, we're just coming to an agreement because I need my inheritance"

"Not yet, you aren't, but surely I'll make you my wife soon enough"

I laughed. "I love your courage, fine, if you, get me.."

I dusted the cloak around and adjusted his red cape.

"... To become your fiancee in less than 6 months, if you make me fall for you, then I'll naturally marry you"

"Don't tempt me"

"Well, where is the fun if there no temptation, be a gentleman" she turned around to mingle when someone came up to us.

"Ning xi can we talk? In private?"

"Whatever you want to say, you can say in front of my fiancee can you not?"

"You, don't be like this, remember all these years" Junting's mom said.

I scoffed. "You're in my territory now"

"Ning xi can we get back together? I'm sorry, I want you back"

I almost burst into laughter, I already suspected this.

"Why? Am I now befitting of your status?? Aren't you married?"

"I.  Ning xi I know you still love me, please come back, I'll be more better to you, I love you"

"Ning girl" his mom held my hand. "Come back, you're still part of the family, after all we're your in-laws"  she made it sound like it's a must.

I yanked my hand off. "Well I forget, I'm a country bumpkin remember, go back to your wife, like you said I'm not befitting of your status, and it was true, after all I'm way up here and you're way below there, just get ready, everything I gave the Nian family, I'll be back to take it soon"

"You! You have an obligation to fulfill, we're still your family after all and your name is still in the register" xuelo pointed at me.

God, this family was so shameless.. I've never seen such level of shamelessness.

I couldn't be bothered with them so I ran into Hanchen's arms and buried my face into his chest.

"Brother Hanchen I'm scared, they're bullying me" I felt him stiffened for a second before he held me closer. "Leave before I call security, we both know embarrassment is the last thing your family would like to be plagued with especially after disrupting my fiance health"

There was strong killing intent in his voice that commanded authority and power it even made me a bit terrified.

They left but not after junting looked at me.

"Wow, you did well"

"You're a great actress, ever considered the industry?"

"I should be asking you that" I nudged him feeling so excited and happy, that look in their face was exhilarating.

"I wasn't acting little xi"

I looked up at him and smirked. "I'm going to my dad now brother Hanchen, we'll talk later okay"

He held my hand and kissed it. "You won't avoid me forever little xi" then he let me go.

After the party ended, as I escorted my dad up the stairs he turned to look at me angrily.

"What are you doing here?"

I knew where he was going, I smiled sheepishly and said.

"Daddy of course I'm accompanying you"

"You brat, go accompany your fiancee Hanchen"

"Dad" I groaned, "I grew up with brother Hanchen, isn't that awkward enough?"

"I saw the way that your ex husband is looking at you, if not for my patience he would have been wiped out already, I know he wants you back, of course, if you don't want your trillion dollar Inheritance-"

"I'm going already! Don't be harsh, I'm your only daughter"

I pouted.

"Don't forget, you'll accompany Hanchen to imperial capital too"

"What?" I froze and turned around.

"Yes, the company after all is in imperial capital and I don't like the idea of you living alone so of course I've arranged for you to stay with Hanchen"

"Dad!" I almost cried, this was going to be so embarrasing, "I'm not a little kid anymore"

"I'm only just worried about you, you're a beautiful girl and the thought of living you alone makes me worried, I'll be coming to capital city soon, just hold on"

I sighed, I loved my dad and knew he was genuinely concerned about me, that was why he match make me with brother Hanchen. Of course brother Hanchen wasn't bad at all, just it was definitely embarrasing and seeing as he had seen all my most embarrasing side including my puberty days, it make me more worse and awkward.

"Alright daddy, I'll do as you say"

"I love you, now go"

I sighed and walked away, going to my room, after changing, I wore a blue pyjamas, that consisted of trousers and a robe then I went downstairs, I saw brother Hanchen.

Sighing I sat beside him.

"Thought you would have gone to bed"

"Well thank my father about wanting to accompany my supposed fiancee, you must be happy"

"Of course I am"

"My dad said I'm going to love with you in capital city"

"There's already a room available for you and everything is ready already, all that's missing is you"

He looked at me in my eyes.

"So you guys have already planned this and I was kept in the dark" I folded my arms but on second thought, I hit him on the shoulder.

"No, there has always been a room for you, just not the person" I coughed.

How can he be so smooth with his words.

I coughed. "Anyways, I eat a lot, be ready to tolerate me" I rolled my eyes. "Why not" he sipped his wine.

"So tell me how things are at the company"

We discussed some company related matters , although all through his eyes stayed on mine, I tried not to think too much about it. I went to bed later that night.
