Chapter Ten: Business Trip

The past days could be said to be eventful, at least it was fun, as I was working in the study, I heard a knock and the door opened, Ning xi came in.

"What are you working on?"

She Sat down beside me. "It's work related"

"I'll be going on a business trip"

I looked at her. "Business Trip?"

"Yeah,I need to visit some dignitaries of the company and some other well renowned people"

"When is that?"

"In two days time, staying at home can be boring, I've been indoor all week already"

"Do you want to go out that badly"

"Should we? We'll just not stay long"

"Little xi, be careful okay, when you go to the meeting, I'll give you a bodyguard again "

"Okay then" I smiled.

"Come on, let's go out"

"Yes, where are we going"

"You'll see" we went downstairs.

"Boss, should we.." "no, I'll take care of her myself"

We got into the car and drove off.

Ning xi's POV

               The moment the car stopped at a shipping mall I was surprised.

"A shopping mall?"

"Hmm.. don't Ladies like to shop for clothes and stuff, come on"

"Wow, I'm surprise you know that, you're not accompanying me are you?"

"What do you take me for, of course I am"

I Held Her hand and took her into the shopping mall.

We began looking around. As picked out a few that I knew might fit her, then I called the serving lady.

"Let her try this on please"

"This way ma'am"

Ning xi followed her while I sat down reading a catalog.

Following a series of tests, I picked out the ones that suited her the best.

After a while I didn't see her again. I stood up to walk around when I saw her and a group of women, they were talking and laughing at her as she stood looking at them like dust.

When I heard all they were saying a frown came up my face. As they called the serving lady that attended to her and who even started demanding for the clothes back, I smiled.

"I look away for one minute and you know how to attract flies to yourself?" When she turned around I kissed her possessively making the other ladies gasp, then they stared at me.

When I looked at them again the chill in my eyes became so obvious.

"Who dates to call the heir of Ning empire a slut"

They gasped. "Defamation is a serious crime you know, calling my fiancee a slut, I believe your family didn't give you proper home training Miss Lee"

"How did you -"

"Get ready for my lawyers letter Miss Lee, Miss Xiao, and Miss Alice"

I held Ning xi's hand and walked away.

She didn't say anything till we got into the car. The moment I closed the door, I grabbed her and started kissing her, she tried to resist bit when she knew I had the upper hand she relaxed and let me continue.

"You looked really beautiful, I'd we weren't out I would have devoured you" I whispered to her. Then her nose started bleeding and I laughed as she pushed me away.

"You-"

"What? It's not my fault you find me so handsome"

She cleaned her nose as she sulked, I was in a good mood so I started the car. "Let's go eat"

"Thank you" I heard her say.

"You're welcome"

We stayed at home for the remaining two days and after that I got ready for the business trip, Li Hanchen gave me two extra bodyguards this time and before I left he kissed me again. It seemed he had started normalizing kissing me and no matter how I squeezed my fave and protested he laughed and continued.

Boarding a private jet, I arrived pretty early so I lodged onto the company hotel and waited. Hanchen had called to know if I arrived safely and I told him I was in the hotel now.

That evening, I got dressed, wearing a red dinner gown that exposed my back and had a slit by the side exposing my long leg and fair calf. I wore a simple pearl necklace and left the room for the conference meeting downstairs.

After a series of talks and delegation, we began to socialize. Of everyone around, most of them were most of the countries richest people, of course, excluding me as I was in the pinnacle of power. Many others tried to make small talks with me, of course I hosted and toasted to them do as to not come off as rude.

Just as I downed another glass. I heard a familiar voice talking to me and when I turned to look I saw my aunt, it's been quite a while since I saw her last and we exchanged pleasantries.

"Ning xi, I want to introduce you to a few people" she led me somewhere and when I saw them I was surprised.

Nian Junting and his pretentious wife, shin Jia Yi.

"Oh it's you" Jia Yi said looking me up and down, she was dressed in white.

"Do you guys know each other?" My aunt asked and I looked at her. "Do they look like people I'd spend my time knowing?"

"Ning xi what's that supposed to mean" Nian Junting pointed at me.

"Fancy meeting you here, Ning xi, it's a pleasure" Jia Yi said.

"Sorry I can't say the same about you "

"But it's not fair, considering the fact that you've been chasing my husband for quite a while now"

Whispers could be heard and I frowned. Nian Junting smirked.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Exactly as you heard it, I'm here to warn you, stay away from my husband, you kidnapped him yesterday just to seduce him didn't you? Don't be so shameless slut!"

I laughed. The cameras and reporters were quickly taking pictures. I knew they intended to disgrace me but they didn't know who they were messing with.

"Me? Seduce your husband? Look at me! I have a pretty high standard you know"

"Don't be a bitch Ning xi, what? You can't stand rejection and now you're trying to vindicate yourself?" Junting looked at me while smiling.

I smiled, just how did I fall for this idiot.
