Ling Hua's mother once told her that sometimes, arguing between spouses could actually enhance their relationship. Ling Hua was quite skeptical when she first heard it, but later realized there was some sense to it. Her mother and father indeed seemed a bit closer after a fight.

However, according to her mother, this only applied to minor quarrels that cheered the heart.

It wasn't that she intended to fight with Yan Qing today; she was genuinely angry with him. But after he apologized, coaxed her, and made promises, her anger dissipated. She deeply regretted having hit his arm and pinching his face hard enough to leave marks, feeling so heartbroken she wished she could give him all the best things at once to make up for the harm she had caused.

Indeed, she had grown to like him that little bit more.

Ling Hua asked softly, "Brother, does it really hurt? Has it gotten any better now?"

Yan Qing shook his head, "It doesn't hurt much now."
