Chapter 36 Passing through the City (Second Update)_1

Ling Hua quickly gathered the essentials she needed to take with her, such as a medicine bottle and token. As for clothing and the like, she woke up the landlady to ask her to keep them safe.

The landlady looked at her in surprise, "Madam, are you leaving in the middle of the night?"

"There's urgent business. We have to go. Please keep the carriage and other items safe for us," Ling Hua said, offering a generous pouch of money.

The landlady repeatedly declined, "Keeping the carriage and items isn't a big deal. There's plenty of space in the yard and empty rooms for storage. Madam has already given a lot of silver, there's no need for more. I'll make sure to safeguard them until you come back to retrieve them."

Ling Hua insisted and handed it to her, "You will need to feed the horse daily. This will require your hard work, so please take this silver. It will put our minds at ease as we leave."

The old woman had no choice but to accept it.
