Chapter 37: Aftermath

I release a sigh as Martha takes care of my body. After that fight, I started thinking of a way to kill that vampire. He has high physical strength, which is higher than even Yasaka. His magical side is shit because I have the opposite attack that nullifies most of his innate ability.

His regeneration is also something that I need to watch out for. He can shrug off most of my attacks and continue attacking me without any rest as his wound closes at a very fast pace. That means I need to make sure his regeneration did not work.

"My lord"

I snap from my thoughts when I hear Martha's voice.

"Huh? What is it, Martha?"

"Please take some rest, my lord. You can think of a way to kill that thing later."

"How do you know I am thinking of killing that thing?"

"Because of your expression and the connection between us. I can feel your anger and determination. I know that feeling, but please don't let that feeling become something that you are obsessed with."

I smile at Martha and say.

"You are right. It is just a very unpleasant feeling that appears from running away from that thing."

"I know that feeling, my lord—the feeling of helplessness, the feeling of weakness, and the feeling of defeat. I know that it is stronger than what I feel when you are a leader of a faction. However, instead of getting swallowed by those feelings, you should instead use that feeling to fuel that determination."

I smile a little and say.

"You are right. Is it done?"

"You are good to go, my lord. Remember to eat more for today and the next day. I also need you to not do your usual training for two days."

"Even with the healing pod?"

"Even with the healing pod, yes."

Oh well. That is a shame.

"Tell the boys about our situation and make sure to increase the patrol around Bucharest and the area around it. We did not know what they were planning, but we need to make sure they pay dearly for what they are planning."

"Of course, my lord. I will tell Luca about this."

"Oh, tell him to make sure no one is patrolling alone and only patrol in groups of three or more. Tell Felicia to go and get the magicians in Vindice to help as well. Pay them with gold or something."

"Yes. I will tell them."

"Good. I will leave it to you guys."

Martha nods her head and leaves the room. Seeing her leaving, I take a deep breath and decide to absorb some of the natural energy. Natural energy can be used to heal my body and increase my strength, right? Can I increase my physical strength enough to beat that thing in pure physical strength before he attacks Vindice?

Because I know they will attack us sooner or later. With their ambush plan failing, I know they will gather more vampires and undead to attack us.

I need to increase my strength and greet them with more firepower. However, I know that with only us, we will be overwhelmed by their undead and charmed slaves. I wonder if Byakuran and his family are willing to help us.

|3rd POV|

Without him knowing, Byakuran and his guardians already know about the situation. He and his guardian are in Vindice when Vale and his guardian return from Bucharest. Among them is Reborn, who returned from Japan.

When they see Felicia and Luca leave the healing house, Byakuran immediately asks what is happening.

Felicia explains what happened, and after a few minutes of explanation, Byakuran nods his head and says.

"I see. What are you guys thinking?! That is an obvious trap!"

"They are not thinking, Byakuran. That is the problem."

Felicia and Luca look away because what Reborn says is true. It might be Vale's decision to enter the trap, but they also agree with that action. In all their high power, they forget their roots as cautious humans.

"It looks like I need to teach you guys some more."

The two of them shudder a little at the tone Reborn uses, but they accept it. They know they need more training, especially when they are fighting in a narrow space where they cannot use their full power.

"I will even bring Collonnelo. You guys rest for a day or two while I prepare for your training."

Without asking for their opinion, Reborn leaves them and enters the teleportation building to return to his world. He needs to take the private jet to return to Italy and get his fellow Arcobaleno to train the young rainbow.

He still has a debt he needs to pay to Vale for helping his sky, Aria, and he cannot pay that debt if he is dead. For now, he needs to make sure the young sky can defend himself so he can pay his debt. He did not like having debt, after all.

While Reborn is leaving to call for his old friend, Byakuran looks at his Cloud Guardian, Kikyo, and says.

"Kikyo calls the others to prepare at a moment's notice. When those bastards show their noses near here, we will blast open their skulls."

"Of course, sir. Should I prepare for the heavy weapons as well?"

"Great idea! Bring the tanks and mortar if you can."

"Of course–"

Before Kikyo can finish his words, Luca shouts and waves his hand.

"Stop! Stop! If we bring something that big, we cannot hide from the government, and the conflict will become even more complicated, with government agents snooping around."

Byakuran clicks his tongue and says.

"Fine~" He pouted like a child after being denied candy. "We will not use tanks and mortar. However, we will still bring some heavy guns! Kikyo! Bring some of Spanner's creations, will you?"

"Which one, sir?"

"Nothing bigger than five meters."

Kikyo nods his head and says.

"Very well. I shall return first. I think I will go alongside Sir Reborn's private jet to return to Italy."

"You do that. For now, I need to make sure my brother is doing okay."

After saying that, Byakuran walks to the healing house, but he does not see a pair of blond children following him after they hear what is happening from Luca.
