Looking at The Ancient One's benevolent face, Logic's face was full of disbelief. She said she had only viewed the future three times to convince him with reason, but that was obviously a hoodwinking bluff.
Who knows how many times The Ancient One actually lectured him?
Remember, Doctor Strange viewed nearly ten million possible futures in the battle against Thanos.
And for him...
Three?
Do you take me for a three-second man?
Logic grumbled indignantly, but inwardly he was already delighted, whispering to himself, "That's so awesome!"
He looked at the Reality Gem hanging on his chest, unable to maintain his composure any longer, and almost laughed like a fool, his smile beaming.
This was the Reality Gem.
It had the power to turn fantasies into reality.
Simply put, you get what you wish for—sculpt the girl of your dreams, choose the personality you desire.
In the year 2060, 47 years later, even if the Magical Phone was invented, this would still be a mind-boggling existence.
This power, there are few men who could resist it, after all, it is on par with the Time Stopper and World Knowledge Modifier—as one of the three great dream items for men.
Subconsciously, Logic tried to wield the Reality Gem's power, not sure if it was because of the Gem's special abilities, the effect of the magical tool created by The Ancient One, or perhaps he was blessed by the gods, his soul evolved.
He found he could easily summon the power of the Reality Gem without any distractions.
"Come forth!"
"The decision is yours!"
Logic extended his right hand, and a red liquid appeared out of thin air, wrapping around his elbow, slowly materializing and revealing a golden luster.
Then the red liquid covered his entire hand, forming a heavy gauntlet, with six conspicuous sockets on the back of the hand.
The Ancient One's eyes flickered at this sight. For someone who liked to watch the ending, especially different ones, this object left a deep impression!
"Time!"
A faint green gem appeared in the first socket, twinkling with a profound green light—the Time Gem, which manipulates time.
The exclusive possession and guardian object of the Sorcerer Supreme.
"Mind!"
A pale yellow gem appeared in the second socket, its yellow glow—this was the Mind Gem, capable of controlling all minds and creating illusions.
And the future.
Vision possessed an independent consciousness, the foundation of becoming a sentient being.
But he met the grimmest fate, with his brain literally gouged out twice.
"Power! Space! Reality! Soul!"
With Logic's low and urgent voice, he felt his entire body emptied instantaneously, and as his body was hollowed out, the four empty sockets were filled to the brim.
Thanos' ultimate desire.
The nightmare-like object of the entire Avengers.
The Infinity Gauntlet!
Logic touched it with his hand, the sensation unbelievably real, good enough for a few months' work by a craftsman Geng. If sold, this thing would start at a million at least.
He gently lifted his fingers, then brought his middle finger and thumb together, lightly rubbing them.
"Snap!"
A crisp snapping sound.
Yet atop this silent rooftop, nothing happened.
Logic had wanted to spread his arms and cry out in a cheesy voice, "I am Iron Man," but he felt so drained, a sense of deficit washing over him. He awkwardly withdrew his hand and hid the Infinity Gauntlet behind him.
"Cough!"
Logic's gaze shifted awkwardly. "Sorcerer Supreme, this new artifact consumes a bit too much energy... Isn't that unscientific...?"
It absolutely wasn't because his own body was weak!
He had copied Morgana's physical fitness, though only six hundred energy points, not reaching her peak condition, but still far beyond ordinary human capabilities.
Yet, with such physical fitness,
he snapped his fingers with a pop, and without even the spark of a fifty-cent firework effect, he nearly collapsed. What was this?
Would he have to drink energy drinks and fight at the same time in the future?
That would be laughable!
The Ancient One smiled silently. The power of the Infinity Gems was still formidable. In terms of safeguarding Earth, it was the best there was.
And the Reality Gem and Space Gem were both on Earth.
But why did she choose not to use them?
Was she stupid?
The truth was, the energy consumption of the Infinity Gems was simply too great, and the cost to use them was also tremendous!
That cost even surpassed the price of borrowing magic from the gods.
This was also why The Ancient One, a competent sorcerer, chose instead to become a hand-to-hand combatant, stealing the power of the dark lord Dormammu.
How to solve the energy consumption issue of the Infinity Gems?
The Ancient One extended her palm, and a golden circle appeared in front of her—a gateway to another plane. She turned her head to give Logic a look, signaling for him to follow her.
Behind that golden gateway,
was a pitch-black starless sky.
Dark and silent.
The pervasive unease made Logic feel extraordinarily uncomfortable. A thought crossed his mind, and the Reality Gem on his chest flickered. Immediately, a faint white glow radiated around his body, lighting up the surroundings a bit. Although it seemed insignificant in the infinite darkness, it offered him some relief for his oppressed spirit.
"Where is this?"
He asked curiously. The Ancient One did not answer but stood with her hands behind her back, quietly observing the distant expanse of blackness. Countless golden lines radiated from her body, a dazzling golden brilliance shining like the sun itself.
This level of light far exceeded the millions of folds of brightness that Logic could muster. It illuminated not only the surroundings,
but also lit up a great swath of the darkened space.
Such a majestic force!
Logic quietly retracted his own light, feeling a little dispirited at this moment, wanting to crouch in the corner and draw circles.
He also gained a direct understanding of just how formidable The Ancient One was, facing all manner of dimensional demons and evil spirits, directly confronting Dormammu.
As countless golden strands unfolded from The Ancient One, the entire dark space was illuminated, revealing its contours. Deep in the vast starry expanse, numerous miniature planets stretched endlessly like a dark forest.
Between these tiny planets were thick chains of various colors, which shimmered with indecipherable runes and emitted powerful auras.
And these planets all shared one thing in common.
They were dead stars!
No signs of life, no creatures, no signs of activity, not to mention no orbiting or spinning; they were like lifeless bricks laid out there, motionless, becoming a part of the Dead Star City Wall.
An oppressive feeling washed over him.
Logic seemed to suddenly realize something and murmured, "Dormammu?"
The Ancient One spread her arms wide, her expression serene, and said, "Dormammu, lend me your power!"
Dormammu: ???
Shameless!
