Due to losing the competition, there were no recommendations later on, and the editor asked for the book to be launched tomorrow.
When the author received this news, he really was silent for a long time. Although he was prepared, it was still somewhat painful.
After all, at the beginning, when there were only one hundred thousand words, he had 1,900 followers, ranking in the top twenty of the new book charts—totally qualified to compete for the "little horn" and Sanjiang.
But then it all went downhill, maybe because the readers started school...
That was a small consolation.
A failure is a failure.
I am an author from the fanfiction area; I've written a lot of fanfiction, Uncle Nine, Ultraman, Conan, some niche subjects. The results were decent, I even have two fine works. It's not great, but not bad either, with my personal style being mainly lighthearted and humorous.
But every fanfiction author dreams of writing something original.
And I hesitated.
But never dared to take the plunge.
So, I wanted to write something different and chose Three-Body, partly to ride on its popularity, and partly because I wanted to write something different.
But as I wrote, it started to stray off course...
How does that saying go? "Writings reflect the character of the person," I guess. I have a rather reserved but sly personality; I like to be funny and play with memes. The originally serious Logic became somewhat weird as I wrote him?
I wanted to write a different version of Three-Body, just as my introduction tag said, a humorous version of Three-Body. Unfortunately, I still chose the wrong subject...
Writing books is really difficult. Sometimes the topic you agonize over no one likes, leaving you with nothing but pain and a bit of loneliness. However, readers don't have to worry, I will continue writing this book.
But just to keep myself alive.
I can only choose to write three stories at once, opening two sub-accounts to try and start two new books. Being bold in my original work since I don't have any other way out. If I can't even write good fanfiction, what's there to fear about original creation?
But don't worry, this book will still be updated normally, with two chapters of four thousand words each day. As for a burst of additional releases... that might not be possible...
Thank you for the support, dear readers.
I would like to thank Editor-in-Chief Nai Peng for his support. A year ago, when I joined, it was just a hobby, a passion. If he hadn't signed me, maybe I would not have chosen to become an author, to pursue this career.
Maybe when starting a new book, I really should have listened to his advice. Sigh, wild and young, haha, thank you all.
My new book will go live tomorrow at six in the evening. Please subscribe to the first chapter, at least to save my face and not to become a horrible author, wailing...
