Chapter 6 Trisolaran Governor Meeting_1

Four light-years away, Alpha Centauri.

In the Trisolaran world, the Joint Council Hall.

A fierce discussion was also underway.

The leader stood on the high platform.

Below him were the Military Governor, Sophon Governor, Strategy Governor, Science Governor, Industry Governor, Culture and Education Governor, Agriculture Governor… as well as senior members of each Governor's department.

The Sophon Governor and Strategy Governor were new governing institutions established in the Trisolaran world.

The Sophon Governor was responsible for monitoring all aspects of human civilization, analyzing and detecting any potential threats to the Trisolaran world, and communicating with the ETO, with authority just below that of the Military Governor.

The Military Governor was the most important Governor in the Trisolaran world, dominating the strategic planning for the war against humans.

The Strategy Governor studied and decoded human civilizations' strategies, providing strategic references for the Trisolaran world, with a status below that of the Sophon Governor.

Trisolarans communicated through brainwaves, which allowed for extremely fast communication, but to avoid interference from individual thoughts in the Council Hall, they usually kept a certain distance from each other.

The attendees were arranged in a pyramid structure, and each participant would appropriately adjust the strength of their brainwaves during dialogue.

Here it should be noted that the Trisolarans' brainwave communication was very efficient; their thinking was focused, not considering irrelevant matters, just responsibly doing their duties.

The human-formation computer mentioned in the original work was such that a person behind would raise the color of their light according to the color raised by the two people in front, with tens of millions of people grouping together to perform calculations.

Such a method is impossible for humans, as our thoughts are too varied and our communication too slow. Only the pure thinking and swift brainwave communication of the Trisolarans could make this feasible.

At the same time, the purity of their thinking also led to the greatest shortcoming of the Trisolarans: a lack of imagination, which is also why the technological development of Trisolaris was slow.

The leader looked down at the Governors and said, "This problem is tricky. We're not clear whether the human Wallfacer Project is, as Lin Sen says, a strategy aimed at us, nor can we be sure if his words are a strategy against us. It's hard to judge!"

The Science Governor replied, "We have been studying human strategies and their psychology and behavior studies, and have established a mathematical model of human psychological behavior.

Unfortunately, we fundamentally fail to understand various human psychologies and behaviors.

Emotions like joy, anger, and sorrow are something we can attempt to understand, but the fact that humans are full of intrigue yet can maintain stability with each other is completely beyond us.

This has forced us to rely on computers, analyzing outcomes through large data-driven mental models, which are very inefficient.

We study how all humans react when faced with the same situation, tally their responses, and determine the human behavioral model based on the majority's common reactions.

We also performed a big data analysis on Lin Sen's words, but we can't judge whether Lin Sen is lying.

According to the model, the probability he is lying is 50%, which makes it impossible for us to decide!"

The leader said, "That's virtually no result at all. I really don't like the number 50.

It brings no help to my decision-making. Lin Sen has presented us with a tremendous challenge."

The Strategy Governor spoke up, "Since we cannot make a decision, can we set aside this issue?

Because whether we judge Lin Sen's words as lies or not, we temporarily can't do anything about it.

We'd better just continue to observe and consider specific countermeasures after they make a mistake."

The leader agreed, "Indeed, whether Lin Sen's words are a lie or not, our actions need not change.

What about the analysis of the ETO's behavior? Do they have other motives in helping us?"

The Sophon Governor replied, "I apologize, leader, but previous big data analysis indicated that the ETO was reliable.

However, after the ETO heard the conversation between Lin Sen and Logic, according to the microexpression model analysis, the ETO's loyalty to us dropped to 50.

Another troubling number. We still have a long way to go on our mental model."

The leader expressed dissatisfaction, "It's another meaningless analysis.

In the last meeting, we unanimously decided to employ the ETO to destroy the Wallfacer Project. We need to rediscuss this issue at this meeting!"

The Military Governor stated, "Whether the Wallfacer Project is a PDC strategy or not, what we need is to destroy the Wallfacer Plan.

Also, eliminate the threat of the Wallfacers; the destruction must be executed. Anything that can threaten us needs to be destroyed."

The Strategy Governor added, "If we are uncertain about the true nature of their strategy, they could potentially target us with their own schemes.

The ideal outcome is that by destroying the Wallfacer, we completely break the Wallfacer's will and thereby strike the Wallfacer Project, leading to the human government ultimately abandoning the Wallfacer Project.

But if they have a targeted plan in place, we will be at a disadvantage."

The Military Governor asked, "I agree with your view. So, what's your counterplan?"

The Strategy Governor answered, "There isn't one yet. We can continue to intensify our study of human behavioral models. If we can crack Lin Sen's behavioral model, we might find a way to cope."

The Science Governor said, "Based on the human behavior model, Lin Sen's words contain many traps but still conform to our model and are logically consistent.

This also causes us great distress!

We speculate that to establish a complete human behavior model, we would need to increase our computational power by a thousand-fold."

The Industry Governor declared, "That's impossible, the existing computational resources are already the maximum we can provide.
