Chapter 86 Mozi's Failure_1

Before the Zither Plan, ETO was mostly composed of human elites, all selected through the Three-Body game, which we refer to as the pre-ETO.

After the Zither Plan, pre-ETO suffered heavy losses, with only a few members surviving. They became the top echelon of the post-ETO. They often gathered in the Three-Body game, but in reality, they hardly knew each other, maintaining contact with Sophon through single-threaded communication.

Following the reveal of the Trisolaran Crisis, too many humans wanted to join ETO in hopes of forgiveness. The Trisolarans found it hard to discern their true intentions and it was impossible to conduct surveillance without dead angles on everyone.

They became known as the new ETO, whose quality was generally lower than that of the pre-ETO, yet they were a force that couldn't be ignored. The Trisolarans directly handed the management of these people over to the First Emperor of Qin.

Since the capture of the First Emperor of Qin, humans have nearly unearthed all of his past, and subsequently many members of the new ETO were uncovered. It wasn't that Sophon refused to help them escape human pursuit, but that those whose information was exposed had lost value.

In a dark underground room, Mozi stared blankly out the narrow window, not afraid of death, but of dying before completing his wall breaking.

Mozi: "Master, we have let you down."

Sometime later, subtitles appeared: "The fault does not lie with you this time, for we underestimated the humans and even more so Lin Sen.

Even under our total surveillance, they were able to cause such significant damage and, even at the conclusion of the operation, we haven't fully analyzed the reason for the First Emperor of Qin's exposure.

Our opponents are more terrifying than we imagined.]

Behind the subtitles was No. 7, who was also authorized to communicate with the Wallbreakers.

Mozi: "Master, can you tell me the reason for the First Emperor of Qin's exposure?"

Subtitles: "I can, this is also my analytical guess, Lin Sen...]

The subtitles relayed the full inference process conjectured by No. 7 in the meeting.

Mozi: "This is illogical, Lin Sen is human, not a deity. Some parts don't make sense.

"There must be something we don't know, I have a premonition that this is the most important part. If we don't figure it out, we will fail again."

Subtitles: "Indeed, there are illogical aspects. After excluding every impossible conclusion,

the remainder, no matter how extraordinary, must be the truth."

Mozi: "Does the master also watch Sherlock Holmes?"

Subtitles: "In the course of learning, we find Sherlock Holmes much simpler compared to understanding The Three Kingdoms.

But comprehending human nature is difficult, and to date, we can only regard it as a mathematical model that most humans follow."

Mozi: "Yes, that's more suitable for you. Human behavior follows a pattern, with only a few people not confined by this model.

"Unfortunately, our opponent is just such a person. The meaning of my life is to break through such opponents.

"But only now do I realize that I have failed, completely failed!

"I will no longer be able to break through, losing the meaning of wall breaking altogether."

Subtitles: "Why do you say that?"

Mozi: "I should have broken through Rey Diaz, but in doing so, I plunged into deeper despair and lost the courage to face the Wallfacer."

Subtitles: "What was Rey Diaz's plan?"

Mozi: "I have always been chasing Rey Diaz's past. At that time, Sophon had not arrived on Earth or rarely did, and thus paid no attention to the president of a small country, so we didn't know his history.

"Only now have I acquired some information. Before the crisis, he met three times with a Western astrophysicist named Dr. Cosmo, who was attempting to find stars in the universe where the phenomenon of planets falling and impacting occurred."

"This outcome appeared in the third year of the crisis when the research group discovered a star with planets, designated as 275E1. Humanity witnessed for the first time the spectacle of a planet plunging into a star."

"The mass of that star was extremely similar to that of the Sun, and the mass of the plummeting planet was slightly smaller than Mercury's, yet the radius of the spiral-shaped material cloud produced by its fall reached three astronomical units, exceeding the distance from the Sun to the asteroid belt."

Subtitle: "Are you saying that Rey Diaz's plan is for Mercury to collide with the Sun, and within those three astronomical units in the Solar System, Venus, Mars, and Earth will all successively fall into the Sun? A chain reaction is still ongoing, and next, the entire Solar System will become a sea of fire."

Is it identical to Logic's hypothesized Mercury collision with the Sun?"

Mozi: "Yes, but the difference is that Rey Diaz's plan to make Mercury collide with the Sun involves decelerating with He Dan (Censure bullets)."

"Rey Diaz has been frantically researching He Dan, a weapon not suitable for use in space, for this very purpose."

"He even discussed with others, in the seventh year of the crisis, the plan to test detonations in deep pits on Mercury after the successful verification of star-level He Dan."

"This further implies that Rey Diaz's plan is for Mercury to collide with the Sun, and the deep pit detonation tests are in preparation for sowing He Dan on Mercury, using the explosion to blast a large amount of material off Mercury's surface and to decelerate it."

"I have been watching him closely. He often makes evasive gestures to avoid looking at the Sun, as this plan is also a source of tremendous pressure for him."

"By not looking at the Sun, he intends to prevent us from prying into his heart."

"He's someone who appears rough on the outside but is extremely astute on the inside, a brilliant strategist."

"His plan's strength lies in its suddenness and extreme secrecy; when he makes his move to threaten, no one will be able to stop him."

Sophon: "I have just calculated that humanity lacks the ability to manufacture the corresponding number of star-level hydrogen bombs. Even if they exhausted all the industrial resources of the Solar System, it wouldn't be possible. On the other hand, Logic's plan for Mercury's collision is feasible."

Mozi: "No, Master, you are mistaken, in human eyes, Logic's plan for the Mercury collision lacks feasibility."

"Rey Diaz's plan appears more feasible to them because, in their view, it has concealment."

"If humans were aware of Rey Diaz's intentions, they would still have no way to stop it, and that's what would truly frighten them. What humans dislike the most are things that go beyond their expectations."

"Logic's plan just seems insane to them, but they believe it lacks feasibility. If humans knew his intentions, they would have a way to stop them, and humans would not leave their fate in the hands of one person."

"Logic was clever not to mention the plan to sow He Dan to make Mercury collide with the Sun during the Wallfacer hearings."

"Had he done so, human hearts would have shifted from fear to opposition toward Logic."

"The most critical factor is that by that time, Logic had already broken through Rey Diaz's Wall."

"The plan Logic assumed at the Wallfacer hearings was precisely in order to break through Rey Diaz, and that's why Rey Diaz was dejected for a while."

"In the end, Logic even successfully persuaded Rey Diaz to join him and Lin Sen."

"That is what made me collapse and completely lose the courage to face them."

Subtitle: "It's too chilling. It's not Rey Diaz or Logic, but Lin Sen."

"Logic proposed the Mercury collision as told by Lin Sen, so Logic aimed it against Rey Diaz."

Mozi: "Master, are you saying that Lin Sen told Logic this? In that case, Lin Sen is far more terrifying than I imagined."

Subtitle: "The fall of the First Emperor of Qin was also orchestrated by Lin Sen, equally inconceivable."

"Do not disclose Rey Diaz's plan for Mercury to collide with the Sun, humans will no longer believe."
