Chapter 251: Dealing with the Captured Trisolaran

Two years ago, the other 49 fleets led by Rey Diaz returned to the Solar System without any damage.

The more than 200 Trisolarans who came back with them had always been in the escape pods. Since the human governments had agreed not to go against the will of the Trisolarans, no one forcibly opened the escape pods.

Humanity merely provided the Trisolarans with some basic resources and food. Notably, the Trisolarans had very simple dietary requirements, only needing sterile carbohydrates, even if it was decayed matter, they could still consume it.

Considering the harsh environment of Trisolaris, if they were fussy about food, survival would definitely be difficult.

Life can be summarized as a relatively independent mass of self-perpetuating reactions that form after attaining certain energy. Trisolarans and Earth's organisms are both carbon-based lifeforms and share many similarities, their life energy all comes from the decomposition of organic matter.

The human body utilizes the energy from organic matter decomposition using ATP, Citric Acid Cycle... breaking down food and converting it into energy usable by our living bodies, essentially transforming food molecules into energy usable by living beings.

Of course, the way Trisolarans utilize energy differs from ours, but essentially, both involve converting carbonyl organic molecules into energy. As for whether human food is harmful to Trisolarans is not an issue at all, setting aside the resistance of Trisolaran bodies to toxins, their technological level is more than capable of easily dealing with such problems.

Trisolarans are far more efficient than humans in utilizing organic matter and can use it to a greater extent, requiring very little material resources for their survival. Inappropriately put, they could live off just si and niao.

In these two years, the Trisolarans have not made any form of response to humanity. They are very scared of contact with humans and have been watchful all the time.

They were willing to be captured by humans and come to the Solar System for the love of life is one reason, but more importantly, they all longed to live in a place as beautiful as Earth.

The Trisolaran home planet does not consider them traitors; they even possess control over a Sophon, which is the only support Trisolaris could give them.

The arrival of the Trisolarans indeed caused a significant commotion in the human world, while some people support establishing relations with the Trisolarans, many others oppose it.

Although nearly 30 years have passed since the Battle of Doomsday, the relatives of all those who sacrificed in the war have not diminished their hatred for the Trisolarans.

When sociologists learned that Rey Diaz had captured 200 Trisolarans, they started studying how to deal with the Trisolarans.

The suggestions put forward by sociologists mainly include:

First, legally grant these Trisolarans citizenship, subject them to human laws, and afford them the same human rights as humans. They would be allowed to participate in human social activities… etc.

Humans do not view them as captives; the escape pods are their homes, and without the owners' permission, entry by others is not allowed.

This is the greatest protection for them while also, if these Trisolarans violate human laws, they will be subjected to mandatory measures.

Second, in the long run, the integration of Trisolarans into human society is an inevitable trend, and they may even form new social groups or cultural phenomena. Not only do Trisolarans have to get accustomed to our culture, but we must also adapt to Trisolaran culture, art, philosophy… etc., and try to understand and accept alien civilizations.

When Trisolarans had not reached the Solar System, humans might develop a fondness for them, and usually, there is no aversion to Trisolaran culture. But if Trisolarans are right beside us, our feelings towards them become very complex, involving curiosity, fear, rejection…

The aesthetics of Trisolarans and humans are bound to be very different. It can be assured that when humans learn of the appearance of Trisolarans for the first time, many will clamor for their execution, which is why information about the appearance of Trisolarans and such must be kept confidential in the initial stages.

Third, provide limited resources for Trisolarans. Within human society, Trisolarans are also an unstable element that must be prevented from having too great an influence on human society. Different attitudes towards Trisolarans within humanity might also lead to differences and even conflicts.

Fourth, the value of labor feedback. Find the value of Trisolarans in human society, where healthy social relationships require the mutual exchange of labor value.

Fifth, protect the Trisolarans. It cannot be ruled out that some humans might take retaliatory actions against Trisolarans.

From these suggestions, it's evident that humanity is sincere. They are seeking a way to coexist peacefully with the Trisolarans.

We must consider the adaptability of both humans and Trisolarans as well as the impact of multiple factors such as differences in technology and culture between the two sides.

Humans will also attempt to gain an in-depth understanding of Trisolaran social characteristics and, through mutual exchanges, adapt to each other and seek to establish a set of social interaction methods acceptable to both humans and Trisolarans.

At the same time, we must consider the threat posed by the Trisolarans. According to their own strategies, they may choose cooperation in exchange for better treatment or secretly plan rebellious activities. For example, they might appear harmless to engage in cultural erosion. Within human society, their potential destructiveness might be greater, which humans need to be cautious of.

Trisolarans are afraid of humans, yet humans are equally afraid of Trisolarans. One might even say human fear of Trisolarans is greater than their fear of Mr. Poison Snake.

Many people may have a misconception, believing that when Trisolarans are beside us and we understand them well, we won't be afraid of them anymore.

Quite the contrary, when we are far from them and completely unaware of their appearance, that's when we tend to be favorable towards them.

When they are right beside us, our fear of them intensifies, and we may even wish to eliminate them.

It's often the case that we fill unfamiliar things with fantasies, while we develop a distaste for things we know well.

Human growth starts from accepting things we dislike; the growth of civilization is similar. This group of Trisolarans also carries the beautiful wish of humanity to establish relations with other alien civilizations, but whether this wish can be realized, no one knows.

Can the barriers between species be easily broken?

Humans temporarily accepting these Trisolarans is mainly due to:

Firstly, humanity's absolute control over these Trisolarans; humans can ensure that the Trisolarans will not pose a threat.

Secondly, understanding the state of scientific development of the Trisolarans, humans are confident that they will definitely be stronger than the Trisolarans in the future. This confident mindset prompts humans to be more open in accepting Trisolarans, seeing them as a challenge and opportunity.

Thirdly, a sense of novelty. Humans are always filled with curiosity and the desire to explore the unknown. As an alien life form, the existence, culture, and technology of Trisolarans have sparked human curiosity.

As for the Dark Forest, this is the state in which universal civilizations are generally presented. Without the restrictions of distance, it's actually a state of conflict and struggle.

Since the Trisolarans have yet to reply to humans, the relationship between humans and these Trisolarans has not made any progress.
