Lin Sen did not become angry at the Grand Secretary's words, but instead replied in an eerily calm voice, "I'm not much of a talker, and perhaps you all don't quite understand us.
"Since you've sent out a hundred thousand warships, let the human warships that have you surrounded have a contest with them, which will also make our subsequent discussion more convenient."
If No. 7 heard this, he would probably curse loudly, accusing Lin Sen of deceit. In the communication between Trisolarans and humanity, probably no one could beat your skill at spouting nonsense. You call this 'not much of a talker'? Who are you trying to fool!
At the same time, Lin Sen's words thoroughly enraged the Commanding Elder. His words clearly revealed a meaning: humanity's 2,000 warships were enough to contend with the dinosaurs' hundred thousand warships.
The Commanding Elder said angrily, "If you say humanity has something to rely on to confront us, we might believe it.
"That's why His Majesty chose to negotiate with you, but now it's 100,000 against 2,000. Where do you get the courage to look down on us like this?"
Lin Sen: "No, it's 2,000 against 100,000!
"I don't know how strong you are, but you've been away from Earth for 60 million years, and yet we can understand all of your technology today. That is what I find most unbelievable. Saying it's contempt, well, you could call it that.
"Such as you are, we only feel a trace of sorrow."
The Commanding Elder laughed in his rage: "I've seen arrogant people, but your level of arrogance is unprecedented in our 60 million years of interstellar history.
"Do you really think we only have the strength that meets the eye?
"Let me tell you another rule of the universe: the foundation of survival is not conquest and annihilation but respect and vigilance towards any civilization.
"You never know what kind of trump card the other party holds. Even if you have destroyed them, it doesn't mean they were weaker than you, only that you were luckier to have struck first.
"I thought you were just naive and ignorant, but it turns out you have something a civilization should never possess—arrogance."
Lin Sen responded calmly, "We hope we won't disappoint you. The war begins now."
As his words fell, instantly, millions of kilometers away from the massive dinosaur mothership, human warships paired off into formations, with each duo appearing to establish some connection, creating a special resonance wave.
The dinosaurs detected this wave but were unable to analyze what it actually was, yet they realized it was no ordinary occurrence.
In the Commanding Elder's gaze flashed a hint of resoluteness. Without hesitation, he gave the command to initiate the mightiest attack known to Dinosaur Civilization: "Launch the zero-point energy attack immediately! The primary target is to destroy those two thousand human warships. Whether they are made of strong interaction material or not, we will utterly obliterate them!"
With the command given, the entire battlefield seemed to tremble. Tens of thousands of zero-phantom field beams, precise as arrows, were directed at the two thousand human warships. The power of this weapon lay in its ability to trigger a massive burst of vacuum zero-point energy in the attacked area, eradicating all matter under the onslaught of this energy.
Zero-point energy refers to the energy possessed by a quantum mechanics system in its ground state, its concept traceable back to the quantum harmonic oscillator model. In classical mechanics, the energy of the system can approach zero indefinitely, but in quantum mechanics, particles still vibrate to some degree, and the energy of such vibrations is what we call zero-point energy.
Vacuum zero-point energy pertains to the vast background energy still present in a vacuum at absolute zero temperature. In the microcosm, this energy fluctuates violently; Sophons absorb energy at the highest points of these fluctuations.
The amount of vacuum zero-point energy is enormously vast; the zero-point energy contained within a cubic decimeter of vacuum is enough to boil the entire Earth.
If a war could stimulate one ten-thousandth of the vacuum zero-point energy in a given space, even materials made of strong interactions would instantaneously be turned to dust.
The might of the Dinosaur Civilization lies in their ability to scale this microscopic energy destruction effect to the macroscopic. Zero-point energy weapons harness the violent fluctuations of microscopic vacuum zero-point energy within a portion of space, directly disrupting the stability of particles within the matter at the microscopic level, thereby destroying macroscopic objects.
However, despite possessing such powerful weapons, dinosaurs were not capable of utilizing vacuum zero-point energy on a macroscopic scale in large amounts. Should such energy be harnessed, as long as unutilized space in the universe remained, they would never run out of energy.
Due to the immense power of zero-point energy weapons and their subsequent spatial effects, dinosaurs always exercised extreme caution when employing these weapons.
That's why they continued to use the old-fashioned recombined planet engines instead of the more advanced vacuum zero-point engines. In their view, maintaining caution and stability was the most important.
Despite their caution, a war between civilizations is inherently an all-out conflict, and this prudence must be set aside. Moreover, the battle was happening within the Stellar System, where Sweeper Civilizations generally do not enter to monitor, and the dinosaurs had decided not to stay in the Solar System for too long.
The dinosaurs were initially full of confidence in this form of attack, firmly believing that humans could not possibly withstand such a level of strike.
However, the result of the attack shocked all dinosaurs—the human warships remained completely unscathed. The seemingly devastating zero-phantom field attack was miraculously shifted into another space altogether.
Although the Dinosaurs' technology was somewhat specialized, their intelligence and cognitive abilities were both exceptionally outstanding. The Dinosaur Science Division quickly analyzed the principle of this transfer attack through monitoring information.
The Dinosaur King couldn't help but stand up, the strength of Humanity had completely refreshed their understanding, how could humans possibly master such profound spatial transfer defensive power?
Doesn't this mean that any three-dimensional strike would be helpless against Human Warships? This was the first time in sixty million years that the Dinosaurs had encountered such a difficult situation.
The Commanding Elder had experienced countless civilization wars and had faced even more critical situations, but at this moment, he appeared exceptionally composed.
After pondering for a moment, he slowly said to Lin Sen, "Is this your confidence? Indeed, it has shocked us. You are worthy of our attention and have the capital to be arrogant.
"You are qualified to be our opponents, but do you think this is enough?"
His tone shifted, revealing a hint of disdain,
"Our assessment of you remains unchanged—foolish and arrogant. The extent of your foolishness even far exceeds our imagination.
"You possess such powerful technology, if used wisely, it was completely possible to launch an attack on us at the first instance and severely injure us.
"However, you are too arrogant. You have not launched an attack until now. Are you trying to display your chivalrous style?" he sneered, "You don't even understand what a real civilization war is, which is your biggest mistake.
"Moreover, you underestimate us too much." His words revealed confidence, "In war, attack is much more important than defense. Your technology that can transfer attacks is indeed powerful, but its flaw is also obvious—it can only defend against attacks from one direction and cannot defend against attacks from other directions."
Lin Sen replied indifferently, "So what if you've spotted its weakness?
"Do you really think we will engage in close combat with you, allowing you to maneuver behind us?"
Lin Sen did not believe that the Dinosaurs had any means to attack Human Warships; indeed, Lin Sen was a bit carried away himself.
The Commanding Elder responded coolly, "Humans, do not let your arrogance blind you. Now, let us illustrate to you what real war is. Never underestimate anything you do not yet understand."
No sooner had he spoken than the Dinosaurs' attack began again, but this time the direction of the attack was quite special; they did not target the Human Warship directly, but dispersed towards different regions. These attacks seemed haphazard but were actually meticulously designed.
When two Zero-phantom field beams met in a certain area, a miracle happened: the meeting Zero-phantom field beams actually merged into one, and their direction changed as well.
Even more astonishing, this new Zero-phantom field beam continued to change direction as it encountered other new Zero-phantom field beams. After seven or eight intersections and changes, the direction of the Zero-phantom field attack had completely changed, taking a big turn and initiating an attack from the flank of the Human Warship, hitting the tail of the ship accurately.
This strike stunned all of Humanity; they watched agape as the Dinosaur's technology brought them a tremendous shock.
This Directed-energy Attack was capable of phenomena similar to interference and refraction when two beams met, thereby changing direction. Although it still couldn't invert the direction of the attack, this was enough to amaze.
It seemed somewhat like the Naruto anime Lin Sen had seen, where two shurikens changed their respective directions by colliding mid-flight and attacked the enemy hiding behind cover.
However, when the Dinosaurs' Zero-phantom field beams struck the Human Warship, there was no explosion of the ship as the Dinosaurs had anticipated. The Zero-phantom field beams could not penetrate the Defense Armor of the Human Warship to damage its interior.
At this moment, the Dinosaurs were shocked once again, staring dumbfounded at the scene.
How could this be possible? In the Dinosaurs' understanding, no material could withstand such an attack; it was an energy storm acting upon microscopic vacuum, which even Strong Interaction Material could not resist.
The Science Elder pondered for a moment and slowly said, "Perhaps, only the legendary Neutron-degenerate material could withstand our attack.
"It seems that the power of our attack is not enough to destroy it unless we can invoke one-fifty-thousandth of the power of Vacuum Zero-Point Energy; otherwise, it is very difficult to destroy it."
When the Commanding Elder heard this, he slowly recovered his senses, his face full of disbelief: "Are you saying that the Human Warship is using Neutron Star Material for its Defense Armor?
"How is this possible? This is a Neutron Star Warship!
"How could Humanity possibly master this technology?"
