77. His Eyes on Me.

" I'll pick you up in 2 days early afternoon, Rosemarie. No gifts.. her mother spoiled her with toys..it's mental."

" Well, she deserves it..by the way tell her about the twin daggers, already custom made for her so she could slice and dice her way to loneliness. "

She clearly had enough of us for a day and left to serve an almost empty Inn. We took to the streets, heading back to the Em mansion.

He turned to me with a serious expression.

"..so? Truce until we finished dinner? "

" ..Fine. We also need to buy a bunch of things for Anna."

" We have the cake covered by your mom..

" Decoration being made by the girls and me.

" Gift are mostly unnecessary. She doesn't want anything..

" Food will be plenty and her favourites..

" I hope we celebrate it in peace..

" Her first birthday..well, 6th but still.

" Hmm..

" Hmm.."

We took our walk slowly and browsed a little but had to use Zephyr blessing to get back at the end . Our hour out was almost gone.

" Did you bring our gift, love?"

I nodded along.

" The necklace is in our room. I'm sure he'll love it. "

" He keeps talking about going on hunts for keepsakes. He can't wait until spring. Hopefullythis will calm him down."

We saw Anna and Ciren drenched in water and being watched by Carlos and Yelena.

They waived from afar.

I took a better look at Carlos wife. " I don't believe she is snobbish Zephyr..look at her.."

I waved back and questioned his knowledge gained from those letters she sent.

" I'm fully prepared to admit I'm wrong. Tomorrow.."

He must've seen more after reading those.

I wanted him to teach me once he was done. Reading books.. writing little love letters to him. Sounds nice..once he apologises.

Once close enough.

" You guys look happy as ever."

We went back into our room, Ilianna was tired, and seeing her so must've triggered his own because they both looked wobbly going upstairs .

I was just thinking what to do and wishing Demelza or Eli would be here when I was pulled on the bed and sandwiched between my family.

I faced him .. His eyes closed, I couldn't help myself and caressed his hair. I knew he liked it so much. He smiled and made some satisfied sounds.

I watched his breathing slowly become steady. It's so beautiful. Our future kids will be lucky. With the sun gently warming our bodies, I fell asleep, my hand still on his face.

I woke tangled up with my daughter, and my Zephyr was gone. I looked outside the sun, just began setting.

I woke Anna , asked a 100% maid to bring some water, and she took us into a bathroom. Zephyr tried to copy for us.

It was big enough to fit in with Anna comfortably, and the water was nice and pleasant .

When it reached perfect temperature, the maid killed the fire underneath so we wouldn't boil like eggs.

It was so good.

I can just imagine it in our home every day. Maybe every other day to just soak until my skin becomes all wrinkled.

We got out and enjoyed the ointments and perfumes Carlos had them prepped for us.

The maid informed us that it's training going on outside.

We went and saw about a dozen or so soldiers far, far away and cheering on the two fighters.

Zephyr and Carlos.

We stood near the Em family. Yelena, Lovely, and Ciren.

Yelena noticed out footsteps and gave us both a warm smile.

" Hey, you're up. Come join watching two idiot rivals going at it."

I don't know what Zephyr read, but I already liked her. She had good eyes at the very least.

Lovely didn't even look into our direction, and I saw signs of horny all over her, watching Zephyr. I felt the pangs of jealousy but ignored it to watch the fight.

It was hard to call it a fight. A defensive exercise was more accurate.

It looked incredible, Carlos created various weapons made of pure water and sent them towards my Zephyr, who was absolutely untouchable.

He was lost in concentration and just defended agents of unrelenting attacks.

Carlos looked tired and slowly started panting and his attacks slowing down. I saw Zephyr noticed us, and even from here, I saw his smile.

He stepped towards us and scared me as he appeared in my face, the wind pushing my hair back tickling my face, I chuckled a little and let him steal a kiss, and the winds came again.

I laughed with Anna, who wanted a kiss too, and I enjoyed little lovely's look of devastation. Honestly..

The 'fight' went on until Carlos was simple out of stamina. He put two fingers up and smiled as Zephyr approached him.

" Where do you.. get..the stamina.."

He looked me with a playful smile, and I felt my face on fire.

" I'm young Em..probably. "

They laughed and did a synchronized bow to the soliders clapping in appreciation.

We went up to them, and each took our deserved place..

Or would've, if Ciren didn't jump the que.

I saw both Anna and Lovely making the same expression..except my daughter was only six, so her pouting was on point. While the other..well who knows. She could sixteen all the way to ..twenty six.

Anna showed incredible self-control again and true grace...

She stopped her little feet once and climbed on me. No kicks, punches, or tears. She is one mature little lady.

Ciren just ignored everyone except her student. " Zephyr, can we play a little? "

He smiled and, of course, couldn't say no.

" What can your humble student do for you? "

" First...let's do Reversed Sky Walk." was holding her breath in anticipation.

She sure loved naming their little games.

My love just smiled and went poof with her.

Those in the know include myself, and Anna looked up and saw them falling and screaming while making silly faces.

He stepped forward upside down, went back up where they started, and repeated it five more times. They spent more than a minutes mid-air having what looked like insane fun.

They arrived near us, still laughing face to face. She kissed his cheeks and hopped down with a victorious smile.

" Dad, I want.."

" No!..sweetheart you are young. I'm putting my foot down..hear me??"

I looked at her father to make sure he didn't just dive for minutes with our little girl.

He smiled lightly at my reaction and just went on one knee and opened his arm.

" Princess, come here .."

She took off and landed in his arms.

" Ciren is a big girl ...soon you be older and we can do whatever you want. But.." he went close to his pouting daughter as if telling a secret. "..she can't touch you in combat princess..she is, more of poet."

Ciren looked really proud, puffing her chest out, and checked if anyone was listening to what was said.

I guess her dreams are more...girl like than my little ones.

Anna smiled from the compliment and nodded with understanding and took her place on his shoulder.

" Lord Zephyr, that was shocking and .. absolutely magical. Can I be next? "Carlos niece was ready to for her turn.

He he raised an eyebrow while checking my reaction. I felt mature enough, so just give a small nod.

Lovely didn't miss any of this, and it killed some of her enthusiasm... give up already.

You never had any chance, even now, even in the middle of our fight..he only have eyes for me.
