194. Field of War. *

Two days later, I was able to saddle and even ride Sky.

Now he was off being washed by some guys who worked for Thomas and Beth.

My success draw the eire of my little sister who had problems with her own. That horse of hers seemed to have great fun watching her fail continuously.

The heavy saddle flew away and she stomped the ground furiously as Shadow Flame nickered behind her and running around in circles.

" You know, they already have a friendly relationship from the looks of it. " - I said to Bethany.

We were both eating some cheesy toast personally delivered by the greatest husband of all time who took Fenex and joined the captains for their daily report. Our largest wheat field now been officially converted into military training grounds. We payed those having crops there a few gold and they almost fainted.

It was short time together yet felt like I found a new friend.

Bethany was nice and easygoing, loved animals and held no hidden agenda or feelings of disdain about Thomas proposal in the past. I liked her a lot already.

" I believe he already decided on her as his master but having way to much fun with their games. " - she said smiling at Eli who ran after her own horse.

From this angle it looked like Shadow Flame was the one trying to tame her.

" This is amazing by the way.. had no idea your husband can cook. " - she said holding up her third helping, looking at the mountains of sandwiches.

" He sort of had too, I'm a disaster in there. Tried for a while but couldn't make it work. " - I shrugged.

Long ago I accepted that I wasn't going to be a chef or something even resembles the word and that was okay. My husband loved me as and we were obscenely rich.

" I come back tomorrow.. " - Eli walked towards us leaving the saddle as is on the ground. " Maybe by then, he'll just give in. "

I got up taking one more sandwich for the road and left the plate to the lads helping Bethany and Thomas with the horses.

" Wanna go and see the newly christened field of war? " - I asked putting my arms around her shoulder doing my best to cheer her up.

She touched her forehead and wiped the dirt off.

" Let's wash up first at the Sen .. I sincerely hope you two did sully the waters already. " - she said already back to her old self.

" It's river you halfwit it can't be sullied, stop acting so prudish with me .. I know you. "

We spent the next ten minutes insulting and reminding each other of our various missteps relating sex.

We washed ourselves a bit and headed towards the field quickly before they ended up somewhere else, finishing their own food.

Yesterday several important decision were made by Zephyr concerning our future and our military strength.

The old wheat field covered a large portion of the village food requirement of the past and it was very important to keep it up. Now we head a lot more coin and not just us but as village as a whole.

The same field is used for soliders and their training now and it looked odd still bare and soon to salted to make way to barracks and such.

We didn't worry about the food.

People will soon be sent to the Malai market to purchase cows, pigs, chickens, new seeds we couldn't experiment with in the past and try to provide and even more comfortable and stable life to our residents.

We saw almost all those aspired to be soliders of Emet there including old members and brand new ones.

Without any armour on the people there was no way to tell who came from where but, it was quite a sight seeing more than 200 men and women stretching in groups talking to one another.

Zephyr and our family were sitting about 30 feet away on the newly placed benches and tables enjoyed some lunch as well.

" Thanks for the delivery my love, it was amazing. " - I placed a quick kiss on his cheek and sat down next to Anna.

" HmmHmm. " - he said something .. I think, but with his mouth full it was hard to comprehend.

" Hnn.. how's the taming going? " - asked mother from the far left.

" I'm pleased to tell you that Sky is my horse now, fully tamed by yours truly. " - I said standing up and taking a bow.

" Good job my love, I'll take back what I said .. etc. etc.." - said Zephyr.

" Good job Mom. "

I recieved a lovely kiss from my daughter and the cheers and adoration of my family.

However people quickly looked towards Eleanor hoping for a similar story.

" Shadow Flame is .. close. " - she kept it short.

" It's fine honey, we still have 4 days left. "

She was consoled by Lucian, which made her angry.

" I know it's fine, why do you think it's somehow not fine!? " - she looked around seeing if anyone else was willing to take the bait.

Needless to say we all had somewhere else to look, hell some like Alexander and Zephyr chose the sky as if finding a particularly attractive cloud.

Lucian tries to save what he could.

" I know exactly what you meant.. I think we don't need our own home just yet, I'm just fine at my sisters house. " - she looked away from him crossing her arms.

We largely tuned out of their back and forth. " So you guys chosen anyone yet? "

Those named captains shared some amused looks then..

Laughing in sync like that took considerable effort and planning. They all looked a little sorry for me and let the biggest idiot of them all to explain.

" Oh Lylly .. it's not that simple. " - Alexander took the lead and gestured towards the man and women front of us. " They all require careful consideration. We never know, it might be a diamond in the rough amongst them. "

His facial expressions and hand gestures made me feel like he was talking to a child, and that was before the idiots all pointed at the people in sync, what had to be a practiced move.

But the approving nods of 4 captains made me hold my tongue and let this one go.

" They stall for time because they're undecided .. " - Zephyr leaned over and whispered in my ear.

" I'm shocked .. " - I said turning my head, stealing a quick kiss.

Alexander looked towards us waiting for Zephyr.

" Yeah sure, go nuts. " - he nodded.

The 5 nodded and walked towards the now sizeable army.
