Chapter 91

Inside Kuoh Academy's Student Council Meeting Room

Dimly lit, the room's primary illumination came from numerous floating screens that emitted a cool, bluish light. At the center of the room was a large, rectangular wooden table surrounded by several high-backed chairs. The chairs, upholstered to match the room's formal tone, gave a sense of unity and order. The table was spacious and currently uncluttered, as the students had already finished their work.

The walls were adorned with numerous empty picture frames, for reasons unknown—perhaps the student council wasn't that close, or maybe they hadn't taken any pictures together. At the far end of the room, a large window with heavy, dark drapes tied back with golden tassels added a touch of elegance. The window offered a glimpse outside but suggested that privacy and discretion were important here.

The numerous floating screens showed the live feed of the rating game arena, where Rias and her peerage faced off against Riser and his peerage. Sona Sitri, the student council president of Kuoh Academy and heir to the Sitri Family, sat at the head of the table. Nearby, Tsubaki, the vice president and the Queen of Sona's Peerage, seated to Sona's right.

As they listened to Rias' group's conversation, noting their arrogance and confidence in their strength over Riser's peerage, both Sona and Tsubaki frowned. The confidence in Rias's voice made them curious about what Oreki had given her and how he had trained her peerage to instill such conviction.

Sona thought about asking Oreki to train her and her peerage before the youth gathering. A question popped into Sona's head, as she didn't know how strong Oreki really was because her sister Serafall hadn't elaborated much after their fight. Sona hadn't bothered to ask since she knew her sister was always busy maintaining diplomatic relations with other supernatural beings.

"How strong do you think Oreki is?" Sona asked, looking at the trio of Rias, Akeno, and Valerie walking through the woods.

"Stronger than Serafall-sama and Sirzechs-sama at least," Tsubaki answered in a flat tone.

Sona sighed. "Do you think... you know what, never mind." She already knew Tsubaki would answer that Oreki might be weak against the Chief Gods of other pantheons. If she considered a Chief God a Super-Tier God, then Oreki was a Mid-Tier God, not even High-Tier or perhaps even just Low-Tier. She nodded to herself, thinking, "That's right, he's not that."

However, Sona was just being extremely petty and biased because Oreki had rejected her offer to play chess with her. She was also jealous that Rias had a benefactor like Oreki who could help her with anything she wanted.

Sona then noticed Tsubaki staring at her with narrow eyes instead of watching the rating game. She turned to Tsubaki and asked in a confused tone, "What?"

Tsubaki adjusted her glasses before asking mysteriously, "Are you thinking what I'm thinking, Sona-sama?"

Likewise, Sona also adjusted her glasses before retorting, "What do you think I'm thinking?"

Tsubaki looked at the screen where the trio of Gasper, Kiba, and Koneko were walking through the woods. "Because Oreki-san is interested in Serafall-sama, you plan to ask Serafall-sama to ask a favor from Oreki to train us," she said in one breath, a glint in her eyes.

Sona's eyes widened after hearing that. She wondered why she hadn't thought of that. She already knew that Oreki wanted Serafall more than her, which really hurt her ego. Maybe she could use her sister's love for her to do what Tsubaki suggested, but she thought of something as she narrowed her eyes. "Are you trying to gaslight me, Tsubaki?" she asked with raised eyebrows.

"As expected of you Sona-sama for seeing through my shameless request," Tsubaki said while adjusting her glasses again but what she wanted to say was that she wanted to get stronger too, and didn't want to be left out by Rias' peerage, especially Kiba her crush, and it will also makes the job of protecting her King easier if she is stronger than ever.

"You're underestimating yourself," Sona shook her head, but her intuition already told her that Rias and her peerage had widened the gap in terms of skill and power.

"No, I do not," Tsubaki turned to the screen and saw the trio of attackers standing in the football field, talking about what to do. "I can tell they are already far more powerful than me," she said, noting the way they moved and carried themselves. She knew they could back it up.

Sona could already tell as well, so she didn't inquire further. "I'll think about it," she said in a flat tone, looking at Tsubaki.

"Please," Tsubaki bowed once again before both of them turned to the screen and continued watching the rating game.

The attacking Trio in the football field

The attacking trio stood in the football field, waiting for their King's instructions, unable to decide their next move. Koneko glanced at the baseball field on the other side of the fence, where she could see the silhouettes of Rias, Akeno, and Valerie sitting and chatting with each other. She activated her communicator and contacted Rias. "Lady Rias, what's your instruction?" she asked in a serious tone.

Rias paused her conversation, then said, "Wait, let me look through my familiar first." She closed her eyes to concentrate and observed through her familiar. "There are four enemies in the school building. Based on their movements, they are trying to sneak into our base to promote themselves while the others are coming toward your group to provide cover for them."

"We can see them already, but thank you, Lady Rias," Kiba said while watching the eight devils attempting to surround them. Despite their numbers, he felt confident in their weakness.

"Then have fun, my lovely peerage," Rias said with a smile, sipping her tea.

"Show them what you got, Gasper!" Valerie shouted, causing their ears to ring in pain. "Sorry," she quickly apologized.

"Ara, it seems like the fun is about to start," Akeno said playfully.

The attacking trio exchanged smiles.

"I will handle the sneaky ones," said Gasper, blindfolded, as he rushed toward the school building, ignoring the enemy peerage planning to attack them.

"I won't let you," a tall young woman with long black hair with a dark blue tint attacked Gasper with her giant Zweihänder. However, Kiba materialized a sword out of thin air using his Sacred Gear and intercepted the woman's attack.

*Clang*

Kiba's sword struck the woman's blade, catching her off guard. The force of the collision made her stagger. Kiba took advantage and followed up with another attack, but a young woman with light brown hair and green eyes used her broadsword to deflect Kiba's projectile sword.

Kiba's created sword dematerialized after hitting the ground. "Thank you, Kiba-san," Gasper shouted, even though he was blindfolded. He continued running until he entered the school building.

Kiba nodded with a smile before standing close to Koneko. "I would assume those with swords are swordswomen," Kiba said seriously, preparing for battle. Realizing what he said, he face-palmed and added to Koneko, who was looking at him oddly, "I know, that was a dumb thing to say."

---

"Siris, are you good?" asked the woman with the broadsword, helping the woman with the Zweihänder, whose name was Siris. Siris's hair was styled in five thin ponytails held by a golden accessory. She wore a white top with black accents modeled after a Chinese cheongsam, red shorts, and armored, knee-high boots with matching gauntlets. The top featured a diamond shape on the chest area, revealing her cleavage.

Siris nodded. "Thank you for saving me, Karlamine," she said gratefully before adding, "What's the plan?"

"Just to be safe, Ile and Nel, go back them up," Karlamine instructed. Karlamine wore a cross between a European knight and a samurai's armor, with a headband across her forehead. Her broadsword had a red jewel on the pommel and bandages on the handle for grip. She also had a dagger with a gold hilt.

"Okay!" Ile and Nel replied cheerfully, carrying gym bags. They were young girls with turquoise hair tied to one side with a yellow ribbon and blue eyes. Their outfits consisted of white t-shirts with blue accents, black leggings, and blue sneakers over knee-high socks. They ran toward the school building.

"Ready, girls?" Karlamine asked with a smile.

---

Kiba was about to run after them, but Rias stopped him through the communicator. "Let Gasper handle those pawns. Focus on what's in front of you."

"Yes," Kiba and Koneko answered.

"I take three, you take three. Seems fair?" Kiba asked with a smile, and Koneko nodded in agreement.

"Let's go!"
