"You're beautiful," He said and I looked up at his face that towered over mine, the urge to smile sheepishly came from nowhere but at the same time, I was surprised at his compliment.
He was definitely using his magic here!
Though it wasn't the first time he had called me beautiful, there was something different in his choice of words.
Whenever he had happened to comment on my looks, he would say, "You look beautiful" but today, he said, "You are beautiful."
Why was my head trying to figure out such detailed theory?!
"How come I never noticed that?" He added, his crystal clear eyes never leaving my face. At this point, I wanted to melt away from his presence but not one word came out from my mouth nor did I even try to move a muscle.
He, however, continued.
"How come I never noticed that big forehead of yours?"
I blinked my eyes several times to make sure I could hear properly - You should know what that means, right?
"What big forehead? Abeg shift," I hissed and moved over to sit at one of the numerous reading tables in the library.
"I'm serious," He came to my table and sat on the chair opposite mine. "It's best to hear this from a friend rather than your future husband."
I narrowed my gaze at me and scoffed.
"You're just unbelievable," I shook my head and returned my attention to the novel before me.
"You see, I came across a post this morning and it said something about beautiful girls," He continued, not caring if I paid attention or not.
For some reason, his words caught my attention and I slowly lifted my gaze at him while trying to put on a nonchalant expression in order not to reveal that I was suddenly interested in what he was saying.
"It said that girls who have big foreheads are beautiful and today, I suddenly noticed that you have a big forehead and I felt that your kind of beauty falls in such category. My God, how could I not have known?" He explained every detail with a genuine look on his face.
"Uncle, go away and let me read in peace," I rolled my eyes and sighed.
"I came here to read too," The corner of his lips curved into a half smile and he waved a dark green book at me.
I chuckled lightly. "You ehn. It's only God that will save you."
"Abi," He shrugged and we proceeded to read silently.
Surely, we had made enough noise. Thankfully, it was after our tantrums had died down that some SS2 students walked into the library to read as well.

~ KIKI'S POV ~
It was all useless thinking that Tobi would suddenly come to like me after rejecting me. I don't know why I did, but I felt that he would realize his feelings for me sometime after rejecting me.
But I was wrong.
A sigh escaped my lips. I was slowly becoming an overthinking hopeless romantic teenage girl.
I sighed once again.
Just then, Tilda returned to class with Miles walking beside her. They parted ways and she came to sit beside me.
"My cherry blossom," She hugged me from the side and pouted her lips. "How are you doing?"
This was the umpteenth time today that this girl had asked how I was doing.
I chuckled. Tilda was like the sister I never had and many times I would ask God why he didn't just make us sisters.
"I'm fine. You?" I asked.
She released me from her embrace and heaved a sigh.
"I'm fine o. Just a little tired," She yawned lightly.
I forced on a smile. I couldn't let her find out that I was once again moody because of Tobi.
"Abeg help me with your mirror first. I didn't bring mine," She looked at me helplessly for some reason.
"Even when you bring yours to school, you never use it. What changed?" I asked with a hint of mockery in my tone.
She scrunched her face and looked else where.
"Give me if you want to give me. If you don't want to, eat it. I don't have strength for too much talk," She frowned.
"See this one," I playfully pushed her head before reaching inside of my bag for a small mirror.
I handed it over to her and she peered into her reflection while lifting the mirror into various angles.
Ah ah! When did Tilda care about how she looked?
"Wonder shall never end," My lips went into an upside down smile to show how amazed I was.
She touched her forehead from time to time, with a disappointed look on her face.
She sighed and handed my mirror back to me.
"Now, Kiki, I want you to tell me the truth," She began.
"Yes?" I urged her to go on.
"Is..." Her voice trailed off and her gaze to fell to her entwined fingers as though something was eating her up from inside.
"Is what?" I tilted my head slightly to get a look at her face.
"I-Is my forehead...big?"
"How?" I looked at her with surprise written all over me. "Who told you that?"
"It's nobody. I just think my forehead is big," She quickly answered. "Or is it because of my braids? That hairdresser's hand was a little bit tight this time around."
"Madam," I burst into laughter. "Nothing is wrong with your forehead please. You that barely even has a forehead."
"Are you sure that it's not big?" She asked.
"It's not big. Let me leave you here since you're busy looking at forehead that you don't have," I continued laughing and stood up to leave the class.
Tilda was not a serious person at all.
I made my way to the music class immediately. There was a song on my phone that I had been trying to learn the notes.
It seemed that no class had music lessons so it was empty except for the regular visitor of the music class, who sat in front of the drums with a lost look on his face.
Eya.
It was Aaron. The boy seemed to have been going through a lot since he broke up with his loud girlfriend.
The news had spread like wild fire across the three SS3 classes and that had made Aaron become even more reserved. He had grown more quiet than he used to, to the point that it was until he coughed or made a very small sound that one would remember that he was still in existence.
"You shouldn't make your life colourless just because someone you want badly isn't in it," I said out loud as I walked up to where one of the many grand pianos in the room was situated. It was my favourite of all the pianos because of its golden colour.
Besides, here I was giving advice that I was yet to use in my own life.
"She definitely won't even be your wife in future and yet you're so like this while she's still enjoying her life without you in it. Annabelle knows how to find her way very fast," I shrugged and ran my fingers across the keys which called for a heavenly melody.
He didn't say a word and simply stared at me. Probably wondering, "Why is this girl so heartless? Can't she say sorry? What a beast in human form she is!"
"Maybe true love just isn't for everybody," I sighed and began to play out the keys I could recall.
After three failed attempts of trying getting the tone of the song right, I managed to hit the notes right in the next attempt.
"You play good," Aaron gently walked up to stand in front of the piano with his hands in his pockets while I played.
